Long before the present borders, this region was a crucial part of the Curonian Spit, a landscape deeply influenced by crusader conflicts and shifting geopolitical powers.
• Kurisches Haff - We will paddle on the Curonian Lagoon, which is typically calm with minimal waves due to the prevailing westerly winds. Even when the wind is stronger, the dunes provide a wind shadow, keeping the waters calm for us.
