Alternatively, it can refer to the entire 130-hectare Presidential Estate, which encompasses expansive presidential gardens, open spaces, residences for bodyguards and staff, stables, and additional offices and utilities within its boundary walls. It is 60 meters long and 15 meters wide and has been designated a protected monument by the Archaeological Survey of India under the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act of 1958. Although there are no historical records confirming its builder, it is believed to have been originally constructed by the legendary King Agrasen and rebuilt in the 14th century by the Agrawal community, which traces its origins to Maharaja Agrasen. It is a popular tourist attraction and gathering place in New Delhi. The Baoli is open to the public daily from 9 am to 5:30 pm, with free entry and no photography charges.
- Humayun’s Tomb - Humayun’s Tomb is the resting place of Mughal Emperor Humayun in Delhi, India. Commissioned by Humayun’s first wife and chief consort, Empress Bega Begum, in 1569-70, it was designed by Persian architects Mirak Mirza Ghiyas and his son, Sayyid Muhammad. It was the first garden-tomb on the Indian subcontinent and is located in Nizamuddin East, Delhi, near the Dina-panah Citadel, also known as Purana Qila, founded by Humayun in 1533. It was the first structure to extensively use red sandstone. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993, it has undergone comprehensive restoration. Besides the main tomb enclosure, several smaller monuments line the path leading to it from the main entrance in the West, including one that predates the main tomb by twenty years.
- Lodhi Garden - Lodi Gardens is a city park in New Delhi, India, covering 90 acres (360,000 m2). It features Mohammed Shah’s Tomb, the Tomb of Sikandar Lodi, the Shisha Gumbad, and the Bara Gumbad, architectural works from the 15th century by the Lodis, who ruled parts of northern India, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of modern-day Pakistan from 1451 to 1526. The site is protected by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). Lodi Gardens is a favorite spot for exercise and walking enthusiasts, located between Khan Market and Safdarjung’s Tomb on Lodi Road, and is a popular destination for morning walks among Delhi residents.
