  The Taj Mahal, a symbol of love and devotion, was commissioned by Shah Jahan in 1631 to commemorate his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, a Persian princess who passed away on 17th June of that year while giving birth to their 14th child, Gauhara Begum. Construction commenced in 1632, with the mausoleum being completed in 1643, followed by the surrounding structures and gardens five years later. The poignant narrative of Shah Jahan’s profound grief, depicted by the imperial court, remains the enduring inspiration behind the Taj Mahal.
• Agra Fort - Noon - Explore Agra Fort: Agra Fort, a monumental historical stronghold nestled in Agra, India, served as the primary abode for Mughal emperors until 1638, when the capital moved to Delhi. Before its capture by the British, the Marathas were the final Indian rulers to inhabit it. Following your visit to Agra Fort, head to a restaurant for lunch.
• Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah - At 2:30 PM, explore the exquisite Itimad-Ud-Daulah Tomb, also known as the Baby Taj, located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. Often likened to a “jewel box” and occasionally referred to as the “Bacha Taj,” this Mughal mausoleum is considered by many as a precursor to the iconic Taj Mahal. Please note that visiting the Itimad-Ud-Daulah (Baby Taj) is optional, depending on the preferences of travelers.
