Qutub Minar - Situated in the Qutab complex, Qutub Minar is a historic minaret in Delhi. This heritage site features a tapering tower, inspired by the Minaret of Jam in Western Afghanistan. The first floor was constructed in the 12th century, with the subsequent floors added in the 13th century, and the final floor completed in the 14th century. Attempts to add a sixth storey were unsuccessful. This victory tower symbolizes the onset of Muslim rule in India.
Lotus Temple - Renowned for its distinctive lotus shape, the Lotus Temple is an architectural masterpiece. It has received numerous awards for its design, religious concept, and beauty. As one of the most visited monuments globally, it represents a modern, non-denominational place of worship.
India Gate - India Gate, originally known as the All India War Memorial, is a war memorial located in the Rajpath area of New Delhi. It should not be confused with the Gateway of India in Mumbai. This monument honors over 70,000 soldiers who perished in the First World War and the Third Anglo-Afghan War.
Parliament House - At the end of Sansad Marg stands the impressive Parliament House or Sansad Bhavan in New Delhi. The building features a circular central hall, significant for being the site where the Indian Constitution was drafted. It houses the Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, and a library hall, with a garden nestled between the three chambers.
Day 2: Agra–Jaipur
Taj Mahal - Meaning “Crown of Palaces” in Persian, the Taj Mahal rises majestically from the plains of Uttar Pradesh. Visitors are often awestruck by this world wonder. Spanning approximately 42 acres, it was built using white marble from Makrana, Rajasthan.
Agra Fort - Located in Agra, just 2.5 km from the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort is easily accessible from the railway station and bus stand. Visitors can reach the fort via cycle rickshaw, auto, cab, or bus from anywhere in the city.
Day 3: Jaipur
Jal Mahal - Nestled in the center of Man Sagar Lake on Jaipur’s outskirts, the serene Jal Mahal is surrounded by the Nahargarh Hills. Originally a shooting lodge for the Maharajas, it now attracts visitors worldwide. Commissioned by Maharaja Madho Singh in the 1750s, it is one of India’s most photographed monuments.
Hawa Mahal - Palace of Wind - Located in Jaipur’s heart, Hawa Mahal is a five-story building with a beehive-like structure. Made of red and pink sandstone with white accents, it complements Jaipur’s “Pink City” aesthetic.
City Palace of Jaipur - This complex of courtyards, gardens, and buildings is centrally located in the Old City. The outer wall was built by Jai Singh II, with the palace expanded over the centuries. It showcases a blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture, with structures from various eras, including the early 20th century.
Jantar Mantar - Jaipur - Jantar Mantar is an astronomical observatory for measuring celestial distances and positions. India has five such observatories, with the largest in Jaipur. It features 19 large instruments, including the Samrat Yantra, the country’s largest sundial.
