Panch Mahal - Fatehpur Sikri - This magnificent fortified ancient city, located 40 kilometers west of Agra, served as the short-lived capital of the Mughal Empire from 1572 to 1585 during Emperor Akbar’s reign. Akbar chose this site after visiting the village of Sikri to consult the Sufi saint Shaikh Salim Chishti, who foretold the birth of an heir to the Mughal throne. When the prophecy was fulfilled, Akbar established his new capital here, complete with a stunning mosque still in use today and three palaces, each dedicated to one of his favorite wives—a Hindu, a Muslim, and a Christian, though local Hindu villagers in Sikri sometimes dispute these claims.

Hawa Mahal - Palace of Wind - The renowned “Palace of the Winds,” or Hawa Mahal, is a must-visit attraction in Jaipur.
