Highlights
  • Turkman Gate - The gate is the famous Turkman Gate. Delhi is referred to a city of 7 forts and 52 gates but today only a handful stand tall. These gates were essentially a passage to a part of the city, referred to as a district. Turkman Gate is one such gate that has withstood the wrath of time, witness to many historical changes. The gate is named after a Sufi saint, Shah Turkman Bayabani, whose tomb still lies preserved inside the monument.
  • Connaught Place - Connaught Place or ‘CP’ as it is more commonly known is a massive commercial and financial centre in New Delhi. Named after the Duke of Connaught and Strathearn, this confusing market complex houses almost all famous international chain stores, famous food chains, restaurants and bars. Connaught Place has one of the largest national flags in the country.
  • Rashtrapati Bhavan - The president is the Supreme Commander of the Indian Armed Forces. Only the president can declare war or conclude peace, on the advice of the Union Council of Ministers headed by the prime minister.
  • India Gate - The president is the Supreme Commander of the Indian Armed Forces. Only the president can declare war or conclude peace, on the advice of the Union Council of Ministers headed by the prime minister.
  • Agrasen Ki Baoli - Leamigo - Agrasen Ki Baoli aka Ugrasen Ki Baoli stands in the heart of Delhi as a souvenir left behind by time. This ornate stepwell, which was once a water reservoir, is an exquisite example of splendid architecture and ancient engineering skills.
  • Dhobi Ghat Lodhi Colony - At Lodhi Road Dhobi Ghat, which was built with government support, the students interacted with the Pradhan and older dhobis, listened to their stories of a lifetime, and witnessed how three different types of washing technologies co-exist in the vicinity: the traditional method, semi-automatic method, and automatic machines.
  • Tilak Marg - Although where I grew up in Iran, Tehran, we had four seasons and cold winters with snow, the temperature never went below twenty fahrenheits. Indeed, it was and still is fascinating for my body to experience the temperatures below 0 fahrenheit in New York City. Similarly, last summer in Guangzhou and currently in New Delhi, experiencing the humidity up to 112 fahrenheit is very interesting. Sweating changes its basic meaning and becomes as a process of water flowing from the surface of your skin, all around your body.
