Delicious day in Delhi - Brilliant. This tour was an excellent way to see and learn about Delhi while tasting a wide selection of delicious food, most of which I'd never tried before. Our guide Aditya was informative, funny and a delight to spend the day with. I'll admit I was nervous about the risk of stomach issues trying so many foods, but the only problem we hit was trying to pace ourselves and not get too full! We also did the Food Tour in Delhi Cooking Class with Chef - the combination was perfect and it's obvious how passionate Rajeev and Shikha are about sharing the many wonders of Indian food and culture.

You'll Absolutely LOVE this tour - GO HUNGRY!!! - Thanks to the Coronavirus, our flights home via China from South East Asia were cancelled. Therefore, we looked at an alternative route that didn't cost a fortune. The best price was via Delhi but we only had one day there (such a shame because we loved it!). Being great lovers of Indian food but never actually having been to India, there was only one thing that we wanted to do - as big a food tour as we could possibly manage! We did a lot of research because with a long flight the day after, we did not want to be hit with upset stomachs for the long journey so a very thorough search brought us to Food Tour In Delhi. The reviews were extremely positive and no-one had any issues so we contacted them hoping that they had last minute availability. They were extremely responsive and we had booked our full day food tour of Old Delhi and New Delhi very quickly. We also enquired about toilet availability as it was a very long day and we were quickly reassured that our guide would be able to assist in finding suitable conveniences at any time during our day out. When the day came we were really excited. We were told to stay in our hotel room so that the driver who collected us would be able to call our room and let us know that he was there. Being polite British people, we thought we would save him the trouble and wait in reception. Wrong! Because our driver was not the guide, he did not have a Food Tour In Delhi uniform and we missed each other in the Lobby. We would recommend that you do what the email instructions say and stay in your room until you get the call. Luckily, this didn't delay us too much and we were soon en-route to collect our guide, Aditya, close by. The car stayed with us the entire day and was ready for us whenever our guide called on it so we had almost no waiting time. We were the only two people on the tour. We were both given a bag with a bottle of water, hand sanitiser and tissues all of which were very welcome throughout the day. Extras to bring would be something to cover up for the temple visit and your passports for security at the Presidential Palace. Aditya was a very enthusiastic, confident and knowledgeable chap with outstanding English. Our driver expertly drove us through the Delhi traffic to Old Delhi where our tour was to start. Having arrived in India in the very early hours, by 11am we were thrust into the biggest culture shock we have ever experienced! We had been on a 7 week tour of South East Asia going to Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos. We had seen a lot of fantastic things and experienced very different cultures but absolutely NOTHING prepared us for Old Delhi - it was absolutely insane in the best way possible!!! It was a full-on brutal assault on every sense and we could not get the smiles off our faces! Aditya expertly and confidently guided us through the streets and all the way he was explaining the history of Delhi and telling us about Indian life. No question went unanswered and he was very frank and informative. Although the tour was about the food, we really felt like we had two tours in one because we got so much information about the city and the culture all the way through the day, it felt like a city tour too! We had over 20 dishes throughout the day in so many different and interesting places. Food Tour In Delhi had carefully selected the places that we ate for their quality, hygiene, being environmentally friendly and having an interesting story. We ate at places that were incredibly popular with locals and also that had been established for a very long time - generations of families had run them! I won't spoil the surprises by describing the food - rest assured that you will get the best introduction into Indian cuisine imaginable and even if you think you know Indian food, get ready for some amazingly pleasant surprises. We skipped breakfast and were still pushing ourselves by the end of the day - there is a huge amount of amazing food. I can't stress enough that to get the most out of this day, you need to go hungry and pace yourselves - you don't have to finish every dish and sometimes, we asked our guide to just get us one portion to share as were getting really full. Having said that, the best thing about the tour is that Aditya paced it perfectly with each area we ate at being interspersed with walks, a rickshaw ride, tuk-tuk ride and visits to places like the Spice Market and a huge Sikh Temple where the kitchens serve over 10,000 meals per day for free! It is timed to perfection to give you the best food experience and not just bombard you with dishes so you get too full in one particular area. I can only say, if you are in Delhi and you are interested in doing a food tour - book the full day Old Delhi and New Delhi food tour - your taste buds and other senses will thank you for it!!!

Excellent! The best introduction to Indian food. - I did the all day food tour the day I arrived in India and there wouldn’t have been a better way to immerse myself in the culture and food. I’ve now been in India for more than a month and tried different lassis all over India and the best one was the first lassi I had on that tour. Taste sensation. Thanks so much Aditya.

Amazing Food Tour in Delhi - Part 2 - I promise you, if you haven't done this tour, you haven't really experienced Delhi! It's been 6 years since my first food tour with Rajeev and his company, Food Tour in Delhi, and this time was just as exceptional and memorable, as the first. My mother (born and raised in New Delhi) and I had the pleasure of being hosted by Chef Rajeev's wife and company co-founder, Shikha. Shikha was not only a pleasure to spend much of our day with, but also a treasure trove of food and cultural knowledge. She did an amazing job of keeping our palettes stimulated and yearning for more. During the tour, we visited so many unique places, some of which even many Delhiites, have yet to discover. Shikha was also terrific at customizing on-the-fly and taking breaks, if we requested such. We visited so many wonderful nooks and crannies in Old Delhi, with each stop offering a tasty and delightful surprise, before moving on to some excellent spots in New Delhi. The tour is eat until you drop with unlimited amounts of food. Almost a month later and my mother is still talking about this tour! They do a great job of reminding you to control yourself so you make it to the end of the day before you throw in the towel. They also provided a great driver, who picked us up at our hotel, drove us around all day and then took us back home. All in all, the day made for an amazing food and cultural experience that has created lifelong memories. Having gone on dozens of food tours around the world, this is hands down my favorite!! Great job and THANK YOU to Shikha, Rajeev and the entire Food Tour in Delhi group! I can't wait to do it again soon.

Delicious day - A fantastic day spent trying a large variety of indian street food delights savoury and sweet. Starting in old Delhi exploring the tiny street allies to the main drag all the hassle and bustle you'd expect finishing in new delhi with a very full stomach.

Wonderful Tour! - We booked a 6 hour private food tour in Old & New Delhi and our guide, Ashwani (Ash), was the best! We had a great time as he introduced us to the food and sites of Delhi, and his interest in food & photography meshed perfectly with our own interests. He was a true delight as a guide!

Delhi in a day - I had an amazing time during my food tour with chef Aditya. I was picked up from my hotel in an air conditioned car, and we drove to Old Delhi. That's when I was presented with a drawstring backpack for hand sanitizer and tissues. Walking through Old Delhi we tried so many different foods; each place we visited had a special history. Aditya was so knowledgeable and was a wonderful guide; he explained each food down to the components, how to eat each thing, and what each taste was. Water was also given as well, so really you just needed to bring yourself as the tour provided water and hand sanitizer. In New Delhi, we went to India Gate, the President's House, Connaught Place, and the street markets. We also went through an underground Palika Bazaar, which if I knew about before I would definitely do my shopping here too. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting india! If you only had one day in Delhi, this tour would be great, as you try all the different foods, plus see the major sites.

amazing private tour - I had the pleasure of spending a day with Chef Aditya, touring back alley ways and side streets in Delhi Old and New and discovering and tasting a couple dozen dishes along the way. Aditya is very knowledgeable and time passed by in a blur. Honestly there wasn't a single dish that wasn't good and in retrospect I only regret I didn't eat even more! Highly recommendable.

New Delhi & Old Delhi Food Tour - WOW! Our food tour with Ash is at the top of our experiences for our trip to India. We started in Old Delhi stopping at street food stalls and shops down alleyways that a tourist would never know to go down. The second half of the tour we traveled to New Delhi to continue tasting. We were so full of such good food and couldn't eat another bite at the end. We highly recommend this tour to get a taste of as many foods as possible in a safe way. The food wasn't the only highlight, as a our guide Ash was able to talk to us about the history and culture of Delhi.

Wonderful way to experience Delhi - I had a great time with Ashwani! Ashwani knew lots of information about the city, each restaurant that we stopped at and food. It truly felt like we were eating at the locals' hidden gems. The breaks between food stations were much appreciated. I don't think I finished my plate of food at any one place. I'm from California and eat a signifant amount of Indian food and still tried new things. I definitely recommend this tour. It was a wonderful way to experience Delhi!
