- s.d.m.c primary school - This is a unique tour that offers insight into the daily lives of a Dilliwala (a person from Delhi). We believe that one of the most important things when you travel to a new place, is to understand the culture and systems of a place, and this tours helps you do exactly that. We will take you around the Sanjay Colony slum, which has a population of about 60,000 people. During the tour, you will visit a temple where you will understand what a significant role faith plays in people’s lives. You will also learn about the daily challenges faced by the locals, such as access to water. On the other hand, you will also see how education, electricity and hygiene systems flourish in these tight, resource constrained areas. You will ultimately understand how significant a close-knit community can be. Our guides are locals, so you can ask them as many questions you like and hear their personal experiences. We do this tour in an entirely respectful way and hence do not allow photography during the tour. The best part is, that 50% of the profits from Delhi by Locals go towards supporting the community of the Sanjay Colony slum, through Learning by Locals, our sister non-profit organisation.

An EyAAn Eye-Opening Journey with Pradeep: A Remarkable Tour Guide Through the Slums of Delhi - Pradeep and his team guided us through the slums of Delhi, providing an unforgettable experience. Their passion and profound knowledge of this area made this tour remarkable. They effortlessly conveyed the residents' daily lives, resilience, and dreams. Pradeep and his team are phenomenal guides through Delhi's slums. His tour offers an authentic, enlightening adventure, challenging preconceptions and leaving a lasting impact. Excellent Tours for the Force of Good - Except for the Covid years, we have visited India several times and always make a point of connecting with Delhi by Locals.
This time we revisited Sanjay Colony to get an update on the life of the remarkable people who live there. We were fortunate that Pradeep could join us and after the excellent tour, we were privileged to join an English class for a Q&A session, run by Pradeep and his team under the NGO title of 'Learning by Locals'.
This initiative is funded by the profits from the tours and gives hope through training and scholarships to over 300 students, many of them are female.
In the evening we were treated to another tour focussing on the importance and understanding of Ramadan where we visited the large Mosque in Old Delhi and we shared in the Breaking of the Fast and witnessed the spectacle of light and worship.
We always recommend Delhi by Locals to any fellow travellers thet we meet. Every tour is informative and enjoyable and knowing that your contribution is giving practical help and hope to so many deserving young people makes the experience even more rewarding.

top draw organisation - Delhi by locals have been absolutely fantastic. They made all the arrangements for our visit to Kochi, Chennai and the Mumbai. Nothing was too difficult for Pradeep to arrange. Both my wife and I could not be more grateful. Although Delhi by locals are based in Delhi, hence the company name, we where not aware that they can make arrangements throughout India, and for us this meant guides, places of interest and taxis. By far the most outstanding tour was a back water cruise in Kochi, this was the highlight of our visit to India. DBL arranged a taxi and boat for a remarkable price. DBL go the extra mile to ensure everything arranged is 100%, with post messages to request feedback from the tour. Everything was indeed 100%. Whilst in Mumbai I had a stomach bug and DBL arranged for me to visit a doctor, wow, this was amazing service. I would recommend DBL, the service was outstanding and the cost for making arrangements was very reasonable. Ask for Pradeep.

Highly recommended! Amazing slum tour! - Pradeep who runs Delhi by Locals, planned my entire trip to Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and Jodhpur. I had a wonderful experience. He engaged the best guides, who were always on time and highly knowledgeable. He also arranged a driver who was excellent. The slum tour component of the trip was the highlight. It offered a peek into the daily lives of the residents of one of the inner city slums in Delhi. I also got to meet some youths who are being helped by a non-profit organization Learning by Locals, which is affiliated with this tour company. I highly recommend this tour company for all your Delhi travel needs!

Amazing and inspirational tours, with excellent guides! - I travelled to south India for a wedding and decided to spend a few days visiting Delhi and Agra. As a lone female traveller, I wanted to feel safe but still be able to experience the wonders of Delhi. After much research I contacted Pradeep and explained what I was looking for. Pradeep always responded promptly and suggested a tour that met all my needs, including:
The Slum tour, including a visit to Learning by Locals; Old Delhi street tour; Wildlife SOS; the Taj Mahal; Agra Fort; a Sikh temple, with bread making in the kitchen; other local places of interest and shopping tailored for my need!
I had a driver for the four days I was there, Sudhir, who was always professional, prompt and was a great driver.
I was collected from the airport by Salman, who then took me to visit the slum, as well as Learning by Locals. A young student, Priti, joined us as well. This was an emotive tour, which was humbling to see how the children thrive with very little.
Gaurav was my main guide around Delhi and he was informative, knowledgable with a great sense of humour. We travelled on autos and the metro and I always felt safe and well looked after. Pradeep joined us at times, and was also hugely knowledgable and keen to ensure that I had positive experiences, where I was able to see the differences between New Delhi and Old Delhi.
My guide in Agra was Murkesh and he was also incredibly knowledgable, well informed and also had a great sense of humour. Murkesh was able to highlight really interesting facts about the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, that we’re clearly not known by a lot of the guides.
My experience with Pradeep and his guides was 5 ⭐️ and I cannot recommend them highly enough. As a lone female traveller, I was very nervous about being in India, but I always felt safe and very well looked after.

Most educational, inspirational and interesting tour ever - I highly recommend this tour. It is so inspiring to see the work that the NGO does, to meet the people and see their determination and dedication, to learn about how the community works and how people help each other. How something that seems chaotic to the untrained eye is actually very organized and works for the people living there. It was probably the best tour we have ever been on - and we have been on a lot of tours. Also many thanks to our guide Gaurav - we felt completely safe, well informed and well taken care of from the moment we met. And thanks to Pradeep who was always very good to answer questions on e-mail prior to booking and going on the tour. Highly recommend Delhi by locals! We have been on two private tours with them and they were both great.
