Friday Mosque (Jama Masjid) - Explore Old Delhi, also known as Shahjahanabad. Visit the world-famous Jama Masjid, the largest Friday mosque in India, which can accommodate up to 20,000 worshippers. After the visit, take a pedal rickshaw ride through the narrow alleys of the famous Chandni Chowk market.
Raj Ghat - Visit Raj Ghat, the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi, known as the Father of the Nation.
India Gate - Explore colonial Delhi monuments, drive through Rajpath to view the Parliament House, the President’s House, and India Gate.
DELHI – AGRA (200 KM – 4 Hrs Approx, Excluding Stops)
Taj Mahal - Drive to Agra, arrive and visit the magnificent Taj Mahal, an incredible legacy of Mughal architecture in India. It was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in white marble and semi-precious stones in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal.
Please Note: The Taj Mahal remains closed on Fridays.
Agra Fort - Proceed to Agra Fort, located a kilometer away from the Taj Mahal on the banks of the river. The complex of palaces and royal gardens housed the Mughal rulers for many years. Agra Fort was built by Akbar from 1565 on the foundations of the old fort of the Lodi dynasty and was enlarged and modified by his successors.
AGRA – FATEHPUR SIKRI – ABHANERI – JAIPUR (260 KM – 5 Hrs Approx, Excluding Stops)
Fatehpur Sikri - Drive to Jaipur, stopping along the way to visit the ghost city of Fatehpur Sikri, a city built in red sandstone by Emperor Akbar and abandoned after only twelve years of use. The citadel retains the charm of its medieval atmosphere.
Chand Baori (Stepwell) - Take a second stop at Abhaneri to visit the famous monumental stepwell “baoli” built in sandstone in the ninth century. Proceed towards Jaipur.
Please Note: There are not many guides available at Abhaneri, so sightseeing might not be possible with a guide.
JAIPUR
Amber Palace - Morning excursion to Amber to visit the Fort of Man Singh, a splendid example of Rajput architecture. The fort, built in a dominant position on top of a hill, was once the residence of the Maharaja of Jaipur. En route, take a photo stop at Hawa Mahal.
City Palace of Jaipur - Later, visit the City Palace, a complex of princely buildings that include the private apartments of the Maharaja. Its museum, full of carpets and miniatures, is unique in the world.
Jantar Mantar - Jaipur - Adjacent to the palace is the Astronomical Observatory of Jai Singh, a seventeenth-century marvel. The observatory includes sophisticated tools for calculating eclipses and detecting the position of stars. The principal attraction is a 27-meter-high sundial located in the center of the observatory, capable of calculating time with up to 2 seconds of precision.
JAIPUR – DELHI - VARANASI (5 Hrs to Delhi and Flight to Varanasi)
Sarnath - Early in the morning, transfer to Delhi and to the airport for departure by direct flight to Varanasi. Upon arrival in Varanasi, meet our representative and start your guided tour. Varanasi is one of the oldest cities on the planet and one of the seven holy cities of Hinduism. Known as “the city of life,” according to legend, Varanasi, or Benares as the English called it, was founded by Shiva. The first traces of urban settlements date back to the 11th century BC. Lying on the banks of the sacred river Ganges, Varanasi is the sacred place from which everything originates and to which everything returns. For Hindu faithful, Varanasi is the place where one rejoins the divine, atones for sins, and frees oneself from the endless cycle of reincarnations.
In the afternoon, visit the Buddhist site of Sarnath, one of the most revered places in world Buddhism, where Buddha Sakyamuni (the Enlightened) revealed the teachings of Buddhist knowledge for the first time.
Please Note: If available, we may provide a direct domestic flight from Jaipur to Varanasi instead of from Delhi.
Ganga Aarti - In the evening, take a suggestive excursion on the ghats to attend the Aarti Puja, a ceremony of light on the banks of the Ganges, during which the Brahmins celebrate the river and thank the gods with sacred songs and music.
Please Note: Visiting Ganga Aarti is not possible during the monsoon season if the water level is high in the river Ganga.
VARANASI - ALLAHABAD (150 Km - 3-4 Hrs Excluding Stops)
Ganges River - Wake up before dawn for a boat ride on the river Ganges, admiring the devotees who plunge into the river to free themselves from their sins.
Please Note: In August and during the monsoon months, due to high water levels in the river, the boat ride is not permitted.
Triveni Sangam Allahabad - Transfer to Allahabad. Visit the Sangam, the meeting point of the rivers Ganga, Yamuna, and the hidden Saraswati. Arrive at Prayagraj and explore the city. Visit the Sangam, the confluence of three rivers.
Anand Bhavan - Visit Anand Bhavan, the paternal house of Jawaharlal Nehru, now converted into a museum.
ALLAHABAD - KHAJURAHO (277 Km – 7 Hrs Excluding Stops)
Khajuraho - Transfer to Khajuraho, a small village known for its temples with erotic sculptures. Arrive at Khajuraho and check in to the hotel. Relax or engage in optional activities in Khajuraho. Overnight stay.
KHAJURAHO - ORCHHA (150 KM – 4 HRS Excluding Stops)
Khajuraho Temples - Morning tour to visit the wonderful temples built between the ninth and eleventh centuries. Visit the western temples dedicated to Hindu deities, known for their high architectural value and erotic sculptures. Many of these sculptures depict various mudras of Tantra. Originally, there were around 84 temples, one for each of the 84 Kamasutra postures. However, many were destroyed in the Middle Ages, and today only 33 remain, representing the great past of this fascinating place. After visiting the western temples, visit the eastern area dedicated to the Jain Tirthankara and Jain religion.
Late transfer to Orchha, once a famous feudal state of Bundelkhand, later abandoned. Here you will find a small village full of colors and beautiful temples with high Shikhara, called Chattris in the local language.
ORCHHA - GWALIOR (150 KM – 4 Hrs Excluding Stops)
Jahangir Mahal - In the morning, visit Orchha and its famous Jahangir Mahal and other monuments built in the 16th century. Transfer to Gwalior.
GWALIOR - DELHI (Train)
Gwalior Fort - Visit Gwalior, known for its culture and rich heritage. Explore the spectacular Gwalior Fort, known for its Hindu architecture and temples near the fort. While descending from the fort, stop at Gopachal Parvat to take pictures of the giant statues of Jain saints, sculpted and carved in rock. Transfer to the railway station and take a train to Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi, transfer to the airport.
