Panch Mahal - Fatehpur Sikri - After lunch, reach the parking area in 15 minutes and take a CNG bus to the monument. Fatehpur Sikri, the city’s third World Heritage site, was built by the third Mughal King Akbar from 1570 to 1582. Akbar moved the capital from Agra to Fatehpur Sikri and ruled for 15 years, constructing many beautiful palaces with Hindu and Muslim architecture. Fatehpur Sikri has two parts: the first includes sightseeing of beautiful palaces like Diwan-a-Am, Diwan-a-Khas, Jodha Bai Palace, and Panch Mahal. The second part features a beautiful mosque, the tomb of Salim Chisti, and the magnificent Buland Darwaza. The tomb of Salim Chisti is a masterpiece of screenwork in white marble, attracting many devotees who tie threads to fulfill their wishes. Buland Darwaza, the tallest gate in the world, was built by Akbar to commemorate his victory in Gujarat.
