The historic French district tour was awesome! My partner and I learned so much about New Orleans history and architecture. The tour by the friends of the Cabildo is great because it is done by their not for profit organization so our guide was a volunteer, you could tell from his genuine interest and knowledge that he does these tours because he is passionate about it and not just a job. We went in August when the weather is so hot but they really took care of us by providing fans, water and looking out for shady areas.

We came to NOLA with scant background and the tour gave us the perfect amount of historical/cultural/social context for us to begin to appreciate this city.
