Join our foot journey around the most antique district of New Orleans, the French Quarter. Experience the ‘Vieux Carré’ from the perspective of the native Louisiana Creoles who first named it their home. Louisiana stands out amongst other U.S. states. The absorbing stories of famous Creoles (descendants from West African, Native American and European settlers) will reveal the evolution of the culture that separates Louisiana from the rest of the southern U.S.
The quest is an adventure into ancient Louisiana, the birthplace of Jazz and Zydeco, gumbo and jambalaya. Geographically, Louisiana seems like a southern American state, but culturally, it has always been the southernmost part of the Caribbean.
(Note: The tour includes a visit to the patio of an exquisite antebellum French Quarter house, and usually to St. Louis Cemetery No. 1. However, the cemetery is presently shut due to the COVID-19 pandemic.)
