Great small group experience! - Stephanie is so knowledgeable. I love the intimacy of getting to know the people that influenced the space. She doesn't shy away from the tragedies that happened there and invites you to speak to the spirits that roam on the place. It's not often you get into the house at night and it was a unique experience of a lifetime. If you believe in spirits, this experience is for you. If you're an unbeliever, this will make a believer out of you.

Informative - The tour guide was very informative. Gave a lot of history information. Stephanie was funny and provided the facts of the history about the slaves and how they were treated and how they lived and died. I was i skeptical about the spirit activity, but we able to see some sprit activity after all.. over all was amazing

Worth every penny!!! - Our guide, Trish was the most memorable part of the tour. She was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and authentic. The energy at the Destrehan Plantation was very heavy the moment we set foot on the property. The energy got lighter towards the end of the tour. I was most intrigued to learn that not only were slaves bought and sold but they were also leased according to a document on display at the Destrehan main house. I left feeling satisfied with getting my money's worth for this tour. I definitely recommend this tour.

Incredible - Great plantation and history. I learned so much. We did catch some orbs and communicated with the little boy who died in the house! The dosing rods are unbelievable. Make sure you get to the meeting point (voodoo tavern) early to grab some delicious food and drinks. The swamp water and voodoo juice are amazing!

Beautiful Plantation - Pros: The plantation is beautiful in the daylight and possibly even more beautiful after dark. There’s a gift shop on site that offered a ton of different stuff. Our guide, Trish, was really funny and accommodating. Cons: the meeting place for the tour- Voodoo Tavern- just left me with a bad vibe. We first arrived there around 5:15ish thinking we would eat there since we were supposed to meet the guide there at 6:30. When we walked in, it was mostly empty with several locals sitting around partaking in some…herb.. ha. I don’t care at all about that, but it just left me with an odd feeling. Added to that was the fact that this place is on the outskirts of the quarter. I may be totally ridiculous, but it just didn’t feel safe. I was dreading getting dropped back there after dark. I will say though that when we came back at 6:30, the tavern had a totally different vibe. There were several customers in there and it just felt more welcoming. I ordered a drink for the bus ride to the plantation and it was good.

Such a different ext - Hearing the historical background of the property was so enlightening and being able to walk the grounds made you able to relate to the original occupants

An OK tour. - Tour ran late because we had to change vans half way which made the tour finish an hour later than advertised which affected our evening plans back in the French quarter. The tour guide said she had all sorts of paranormal gear for us to try when in fact she had one instrument. It was a very interesting tour, not sure the night aspect added much to it, to be fair.

No ghost hunting on the ghost tour. - This tour is not what is advertised or what was explained to me over the phone when I called and asked about it. And - not even how the guide explained it. Save your money. First we were 15 minutes late to leave the meeting point even though the bus was parked there, the guide and driver was there and everyone was checked in. The bus smelled like mold, the air conditioner didn’t work properly (bus was warm), and I really think they need to check the suspension or the driver shouldn’t hit potholes going 30plus mph. On the bus the guide explains that “this tour is not like the history tour of this plantation. You can take that during the day. We will be ghost hunting and talking about ghosts”. But, we got a history tour with long stops in each room, just standing listening to the guide. The ghost hunting part - she had a sensor she would put on a piece of furniture that would occasionally light up if a spirit was there. Not spooky, boring. After the history lesson of the house we went outside and to the kitchen. She finally pulled out the dousing rods and told us how to use them. We went ghost hunting outside in the heat for 15 minutes until heading back to the bus. When I called and asked about the tour the company told me we (the people) were going to use the equipment in the house. Nope! Very disappointing and upset. Also the guide kept us in the gift shop for quite a while before the tour. I thought that was cheesy. So no using the ghost equipment in the house and only 15 minutes outside. I wish I could rate this tour a zero.
