• Louis Armstrong Park - We will tour the park and talk about the Treme the first integrated neighborhood in the country and the prominent free people of color that have shaped and help create the diverse and deep musical roots and African roots of New Orleans.
• St. Augustine Church - Tomb of the unknown slave
• Mississippi River - Starting and ending at the Mississippi river this is the major waterway that brought explorers, natives and immigrants to this swampy land and actually built the land starting 10,000 years ago!
• Frenchmen Street - Live music and local bars galore
• French Market - Where my great great great grandpa got his first job! Where Native Then French and Spanish and so many layers of immigrants merchants sold their fares for many centuries.

We will conduct a tour encompassing the Historic French Quarter as well as the historic neighborhoods of Marigny and Treme.

We’ll talk about the rich cultural heritage, residents, and customs of these areas dating back to the 18th century. From our roots as a Native American trading outpost to being a rampant French penal colony, from the vibrant African culture that manifested in music and Mardi Gras festivities, we’ll touch on it all!

The tour begins by the Mississippi river, gently strolling through the French Quarter, then chronologically transition from the Quarter to Treme and Marigny.

Key stops include Jackson Square, Congo Square, St. Augustine Church, Frenchmen Street, and ending at the French Market.

Midway into the tour, we will have a meal at a local eatery, continuing to the most historically important sites in the French quarter and adjacent neighborhoods.
