Plantation Tours - The day trip to the plantation was a truely great tour. We were picked up at our accommodation and the day ran seamlessly. Giselle was a wonderful host, thoughtful and very informative. Her knowledge of the history of NOLA was terrific and she was so happy to share and discuss it. She was also a very kind and caring person. We visited both Laura and Whitney plantations. They were both impressive in different ways. The Laura plantation with the architecture and stories of the families who lived there was interesting. Whitney Plantation was an amazing educational journey, telling about the lives and treatment of the enslaved. It was tragic and sad but so eye opening and necessary. Thankyou for a wonderful day Gizelle

Wonderful time with John and Pam - Our driver/tour director John was great and Pam at the Laura was also excellent. They texted a day before for the pickup details and called before the pickup. Great service. We had a wonderful time with them. Thank you.

Educational - This tour was amazing! Our tour guide was Giselle and she killed it. Driving out to these plantations is quite a drive and there wasn’t a moment Giselle didn’t have us laughing or learning something. Her extensive knowledge not only on the plantations but the city of New Orleans gave us more than what we bargained for. She made everyone on the tour feel so comfortable together answering any questions we had from history to food recommendations. I highly recommend this tour and will be telling any friends or family they have to do this in New Orleans.

Informative and well-run - Our pick-up in the morning was prompt and our guide Ellen was super knowledgeable. We learned a lot about Creole culture on the drive to and from the plantations and the plantations themselves were much different than those we’ve toured in Virginia and South Carolina. Whitney was really moving and gave a really important perspective missing from nearly all other tours (in my experience).

Great 2-plantation tour! - My parents went on this tour from New Orleans and really enjoyed it. The driver, a former chef was informative. The tour itself worked well for them as seniors, a small group for two plantations with information along the way. Picking up at their hotel was a huge plus. In addition, the owner of this small business really cares as she took the time to make sure pickup was correct and said to call her at any time. 5 Stars!

An easy good tour. - One was a walking tour narration from guide. Nothing special. The second was a portable audio tour. The narration was good and flexible. Very busy. The van guide was excellent and entertaining.

Disappointment and ... - The Laura tour was viscerally disturbing, largely because of the tour guide who was so rehearsed and inauthentic. She talked the whole hour, and I was personally offended by the guide's comparing enslaved persons' learning to read by "stealing" literacy to sharing Netflix passwords. She also made no concerted efforts to describe enslaved persons as enslaved persons, not slaves. Here accents seem to change arbitrarily throughout the one-hour monologue. Disappointment, yes. The minstrelsy corn husk dolls in the gift shop were also problematic. Thankfully, the self-guided tour of the Whitney Plantation was exceptional and told from the enslaved persons' perspectives. I especially appreciated the extensive focus on enslaved children. And Rene, or driver, was knowledgeable and pleasant. He got is there and back safely.
