Informative and fun! - I really debated between the cooking class and the cooking demonstration, but ultimately I chose the demonstration because of money. However, it ended up being the right choice! The set up was fantastic. It was easy to see what was going on, and the staff made everything transition seamlessly so there wasn’t any lag time. My presenter was Harriet, who I adored. I absolutely want her to be my Cajun grandmother. She was so fun and funny, well also being so informative and knowledgeable. Even though I didn’t make the dishes, myself, I feel much more confident in my ability to do so after this class. Plus, you get to eat everything she makes, which is the most delicious lunch I hadduring my visit in New Orleans!

Job well done - This was a great 2 hour experience. It is as a nice balance between fun and food. Our chef was great. She was very knowledgeable and shared it at a good pace. She had a great sense of humor and storytelling. The service was timely and the staff was professional. The seating arrangement was tight but it was like sitting with family member you hasn’t seen in a while but we’re glad to see. The first time in a while as a customer I got every dime’s worth of my money spent. Excellent- this is great for both tourist and locals. Oh yes -the food delicious!

Fun, educational and delicious! - Many years ago I was on a tour of New Orleans in a huge group, and we had a brief sample of what a class at New Orleans School of Cooking would be like. I've always wanted to go back, but it's taken 25 years for me to convince hubby that he will enjoy it. That day finally came at the end of November. (And yes, he loved it) The classroom was full (approx 50+ participants) Chef Eric and his assistant were wonderful - very personable and fun as well as educational at the same time. His class describes the origins as well as the fundamentals of New Orleans style cooking while you learn the differences between creole and cajun and the ingredients unique to each. The most important thing- how to make a roux! And the trinity. The meal we watched being prepared for us was delicious - Gumbo, Jambalaya and Pralines. This is rated #1 of food experiences in NOLA for good reason - we definitely recommend.

Great class but no room at all at the tables, again! - For the love of God would you PLEASE PLEASE stop cramming us in like sardines. They seat 8-10 people around a SMALL round table where you have NO elbow room at all, have to sit away from the table and lean way over at a distance from the table to eat anything you are given. This is our 2nd time to go, hoping that after we begged them last time to not do this to customers that they would do better but NO, it's still the same way, everyone is crammed in like sardines. The food and class is great and fun to watch but it must be all about the $$$ because they refuse to lessen the amount of people at each table. We sat with 2 other OLDER couples had no room and 2 of the 4 stopped even trying to eat because they were so crammed in. PLEASE PLEASE read this and make some changes. Another couple at the table behind us said this was their 2nd time, and they had hope that things would be better with seating, but it is still as bad as before, and they will NOT be back nor recommend this place.
