Frenchman Street night walk and jazz clubs - Our Guide Pandi told us a brief history of Frenchman Street and the local area. Went to 4 bars which were all playing Jazz, of differing types. My favourite was Cafe Negril and Favela Chic. Unsure what to expect as we booked online and not with cruise operator, but it was fine. Started about 6:45 and ended at 10am. The start was outside a club, facing the jazz museum, which was only about 3 stops from the shopping centre next to the cruise terminal. The shopping centre was closed so we walked around it back to the ship. Which added about 10 minutes. New Orleans, if you have good mobility can be walked quite easily. The main tourist area I estimate to be about the same size as Manchester Town centre. If went again would try bourbon Street. Jackson Square was beautiful. Only downside was waiting for 7 hours to be processed by US Customs, which meant we lost over 6 hours sight seeing time. Most tourist places can be walked to, providing mobility ok, as New Orleans is all flat. If you love music, it's a must !!
