Colorful new insights into the world of Mardi Gras - Enjoyed learning the history of the Mardi Gras and its growth to the current Mardi Gras celebration. Also enjoyed learning and seeing the process it takes to create the props and floats for Mardi Gras and other organizations around the world.

AMAZING TALENT - We went in June, the warehouse is very warm, but hand fans were supplied. The free shuttle pick up needs to be more specific. Places were incorrect. Need to call the company. They don't just run on a schedule. The artistry is incredible! You get to watch them actually make them!

Magical and disturbing - An impressive foray into the hangars where huge and colorful sculptures are housed, used during Mardi Gras parades.

Neat to see things up close - The tour started with a short film and a slice of King Cake before we entered the warehouse. It was interesting to learn how they build all of the floats and see them up close. We were allowed to wander through the warehouse where they store everything, but it was HOT, so take something cold to drink or something to fan yourself. If you're really into Mardi Gras, this is something you'll likely enjoy.

Hot and Boring - I went to this facility with a large group from work as a team building exercise (which was to decorate and then present in parade form floats) and then dinner and a reception afterwards. The start of the visit was boring and awful, as it was nearly 2 hours of “hanging out” in the store and factory area of where they build big, professional floats. Totally no communication of what to do, where to go, etc. So, we walked through it, but it was stifling hot so we went back to the store area where there was AC to hang out. Then, about a couple of hours later, they took us to the area where we decorated our own floats. None of us has any idea that this would be a very messy (painting) endeavor, thus we weren’t really dressed appropriately for it. This part of the “event” took about an hour and a half and though it was meant to be a team building exercise, the majority of us really didn’t find it to be something we were interested in. The next part of the event was the reception, which was at a large indoor area that looks like an outdoor courtyard at a mansion. This area was really interesting looking and was the most exciting part of the hours we spent there. The food was decent and there were plenty of bars available too. Overall, not sure what it costs to have such an event there, but the first two phases weren’t worth it… the last was nice. I’m sure we would have been perfectly fine just showing up for the dinner reception portion and omitting the first stuff.

Horrible way to manage and comunicate - Never made it there, requested a refund because they kept changing the pick up point. The stated they no pick up in French quarter, so made us go to Canal St. Once we got there and called them they said we needed to walk to another pick place.
