Like coming home - The guide was amazing. Jay is New Orleans. His heart was in the tour; it was like listening to family showing us around a city. It was raw and it was informative but filled will love and pride of the city. I've been to New Orleans four times and every time I learn something new; this time was no different.

Go On This Tour! - This is an amazing tour! Do not miss it! We spent an incredible afternoon with Jay learning a history of New Orleans that you won't hear on the Big Bus (or anywhere else probably). The mood was light at times and somber at others. The balance is important because the history of NOLA is a mix of joy and sorrow, going back centuries, and also in the present day. We learned about the historic early city, as well as the fight for school integration during the Civil Rights Movement, and the struggle of residents of the Lower Ninth Ward to recovery from Hurricane Katrina even 19 years later. One of the most moving parts of the tour was learning more about the McDonogh 3, who integrated an elementary school in the lower Ninth. We were personally guided by a close friend and contemporary of those girls who explained in detail how they were selected from a pool of about 140 young girls to be the ones to integrate the school, and what they had to go through as result. One of the three girls, Dr. Leona Tate, now owns the building she helped integrate, which is now an affordable senior housing community. The story we heard was one of endurance and hope, but also deep struggle and grief, especially for children so young to have to face what those three girls (and others) did. The tour of the McDonogh building impressively struck a balance between those narratives. Another highlight was a visit to Studio BE to see art that both celebrates and protests the history and present reality of New Orleans, especially in the Black community. HIGHLY recommended!

Great & Real tour! 10/10! - our tour was pre-cancelled due to low count so we were offered the urban culture + celebrity tour. the first half was the urban culture which gave us the real history of the citys major sites and neighborhoods. greatly appreciated the history lesson and also seeing katrina and the real aftermath. the switchover to the celebrity tour was so fun and funny! my mom loved both halves. got some good food recs from the guide and we both truly enjoyed this tour. yall doin it over there! thanks!

Nola African American History - The tour guide was a walking encyclopedia of all Nola. He gave us the history of New Orleans straight up. Every tourist needs to take this tour so they have the true history of African Americans and how they built this fabulous city. This is must attend.

Tour of NOLA City Experience - The trip was very informative. Would do so again. The only hiccup was the back of the shuttle was a little warmer that we liked at the last 3 rows. Once you book your shuttle, there is no information about the tour - where to meet; what time to be at the location and the address of where to meet.

A heartwarming, informative experience indeed! - The tour guide was so very informative. He had true insight on every site we passed. His humor and lightheartedness and warmth made it even more delightful. I was overwhelmed with all of the history that I was able to embrace in such a short time. I would definitely recommend this tour.

You see parts of New Orleans others aren't showing - Great tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and this tour allows you to see parts of New Orleans others aren't showing. I gave a 3 star because the air condition in the back of the van wasn't working. I would have gotten off if I wasn't with 3 other people who wanted to stick it out. This isn't the tour guides fault. He gets a 5 star but no A/C brings the score down to a 3 star. I was told I would get a partial refund but we know how that has gone. I haven't heard a word from the operator on my refund.
