Voodoo Tour of New Orleans - Excellent tour and guide! Andersen guided our family of 5 (2 grandparents and 3 grandsons ages 18, 17, and 17) through the streets of New Orleans pointing out landmarks as he gave us the history of New Orleans as it relates to the beginnings of Voodoo in this country, why and how it happened, how it relates to the established Catholic religion, who participated in it, and how it evolved over the years. Fascinating history and culture. On our walk we stopped at an authentic Voodoo store where Andersen showed us some artifacts and related them to what we had learned. Andersen was an energetic, knowledgable, friendly, thoughtful person with a wonderful sense of humor who encouraged our questions and comments. We highly recommend this tour!

Hoodoo and Voodoo Fun! - This was our third tour with this company. It was a great finish after the food and history tours. Our guide, Anderson, was enthusiastic and passionate about the subject and did a great job describing the practice and how it developed in New Orleans! The Voodoo Authentica stop is a must see and best to do it after you learn about the practice.

Amazing Anderson! - Anderson was absolutely amazing as a guide and person. He was very into the subject matter, and was clearly very emotional about the slavery history of Louisiana. This tour was fascinating because he walks you through the whole history of Voodoo from the moment the slaves are together on the ship to the recent history. It’s highly educational and emotional and he was a fantastic storyteller and brought the history to life with feeling and personality.

Great voodoo based tour - What a great way to spend a couple of hours, seeing bits of the French Quarter you might otherwise miss and hearing some educational stories along the way....all thru the lens of voodoo. Good pace, great content, and really brilliant guide (Sean).

Culturally appropriate, engaging tour - I was looking for a culturally appropriate voodoo tour, that wasn’t problematic and sensationalist. New Orleans Secret Tours did not disappoint! Evian was incredible. They intelligently and engagingly navigated the history of voodoo, the culture and practices, and much more. It was really good and I highly recommend it.

This is for those who want to really learn about voodoo - Our tour group was small which made it easier to hear the guide. Our guide was Evian (spelled like the water but pronounced differently) and they were very well informed. We met at American Townhouse Restaurant & Bar and then walked to Congo Square and through the French Quarter, stopping at various sites. The tour was about New Orleans vodou and it helped dispel any falsehoods about the practice - voodoo dolls are not part of the practice, just something for the tourists, etc.
