ASK FOR TOAST!!! Best guide in the French quarter!!! He really made our stay a special one!! - DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND ASK FOR TOAST!! Yes that’s his legal name.. My wife and I visited the French quarter this past weekend and we love to take tours everywhere we go. we had several tours booked prior to our visit, we had no idea how blessed we were to get Toast as our first guide. He was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and very enthusiastic. the passion he has for what he does really shows in his tours and it especially shows when you take tours with other guides. Other tours did not even compare to our tour with toast. Other guides shared wrong information, ended tours much earlier than they were supposed to and just didn’t have the same knowledge or enthusiasm as we saw in Toast. We were so pleased with him that we ended up cancelling other booked tours so we could go back with Toast for different tours as he does 10 different kinds of tours in the French quarter. He is a student of all kinds of history and is even in the process of writing a book about one of the cemeteries he took us to on a different tour with him (cemetery tour). His kindness and expertise did not stop at the tour, after it was over he chatted with us and gave us tips for the rest of our stay outside of touring. He showed us his favorite authentic shops (voodoo Authentica is a must see) , restaurants and sight seeing spots as well as what to watch out for as far as anyone trying to scam us (and to not get caught in the tourist traps).. I cannot wait to go back and this time everything we do will be with Toast!! Tip well because as you will see this guy really deserves it!!

Informative and fun tour exploring the history and religion of Voodoo and how it shaped New Orleans. - Bree, our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable, studied religion in the past and has firsthand experiences with spells and hexes. She explained the misconceptions of Voodoo from Hollywood and how it shaped New Orleans into the vibrant city it is today. I have studied many different religions, including Voodoo, but still learned so much from her. Including the biases and misconceptions, how preist and preistess practiced during slavery and the life of Marie Lavaue. Bree went over how to remove hexes and she even taught us a few spells to take home and out. I truly believe it is as real and powerful as any other religion. The stories she told would make anyone with an open mind a believer. Our only regret is that we did not have money to tip her and wished we could have stayed till Sunday to witness it practiced in Congo Park. Thank you Bree we had a great time and wish the best for you and yours.

Interesting - We visit New Orleans almost every year and try to include a new activity each time. The tour was interesting with a bit of history about the Voodoo religion. However, it was a bit “cheesy “ and probably worth an hour if you visit NOLA often. Not really a “must see” however.

Voodoo Tour - We did the Voodoo tour with Toast. We didn’t know what to expect, and we were pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t cheesy or gimmicky. It was indeed an “academic” tour, and Toast was a font of information, not only about voodoo, but about NOLA architecture, history and culture. Very dynamic tour guide!

Do Not Take This Tour!! - A HUGE disappointment. The guide (Toast) was hard to understand, rambled and went off on various tangents. We had hoped to learn about voodoo (e.g., history, practices/rituals, beliefs, current status, etc.) but came away with VERY little (if any!) relevant knowledge. My friend and I have been on numerous tours in various countries and this was the worst tour (by far) that we had ever been on. To make it worse, this was our last night in NOLA - what a waste!!!!
