Enjoyable Tour - My friends and I had an enlightening travel to and from the Whitney Plantation with Graylines Alton. He offered lots of New Orleans history as we traveled to and from the plantation. Then the time allotted was enough for us to tour the plantation.

Sugar cane plantation with a lot of solemn history to learn about - Very special and well represented place to visit. If you want to see the upstairs of the mansion of the main house and some of the other buildings in better detail, it is worth the money to pay extra for the tour guide instead of self guide.

Life on the plantation from the slave perspective. - The Whitney Plantation is a fascinating glimpse intro plantation life along the River Road, without glossing and mimosas. The Whitney plantation serves as a memorial for slaves throughout the region. The audio tour informative and insightful. Thanks to driver Robert D for the info, I appreciated the DVDS on the drive that filled in some background on the plantations as well.

Informative Tour! - Thank you to our tour guide Robert D. for making our trip a great one! He was very informative and made the tour much more interesting. The Whitney plantation itself has a guided audio tour and included plenty of history about the plantation and time period. It was a powerful experience.

History Never Forgotten - Quite a humbling yet eerie experience. From the poor 'slaves' sold to the Plantation. Everything preserved so well. The silence walking round. No birds, until a red one tapped at the church window!! Tutles resting on a branch in the water. There was a lot of information around. Our driver was a good driver but only told her name and then briefly paused at each Plantation on the return. A little more history would have been nice to hear whilst travelling. Overall pleased we visited
