Whitney Plantation is the one to see - I think that this may have been the best plantation tour to take. It was very educational. Too many people don't know or understand the true history of slavery and how it evolved over the centuries. Whitney brought that history to life. Yes, Oak Alley and other plantations were pretty to look at, but Whitney was about history and education. This is the one that you should choose to see. Bring a lunch. The time at the plantation is 2 hours, but the total time for the trip is 5 1/2 hours. The gift shop has basic bottled beverages and snacks. Pick up a sandwich at a local shop or your hotel, or at Cafe Beignet before you get on the bus.

Interesting experince - Nice tour and good information about the life at a slave farm. A bit to the expensive side, but still a really good trip when visiting NOLA.
