Desert Adventure Begins

The sun was just beginning to rise over the Bradshaw Mountains as my group of thrill-seekers and I arrived at the Arizona Outdoor Fun Adventures & Tours in New River. The air was crisp, and the desert landscape stretched out before us, promising a day filled with adrenaline and excitement. We were greeted by Jeff, our guide for the day, whose enthusiasm was infectious. He briefed us on the day’s activities, starting with a guided UTV tour through the rugged desert terrain.

As we strapped into our UTVs, Jeff provided clear and concise instructions, ensuring we were ready to tackle the desert trails. The engines roared to life, and we set off, kicking up dust as we navigated the winding paths. Jeff’s knowledge of the desert was impressive; he pointed out various cacti and shared fascinating stories about the area’s history. Halfway through the tour, we paused to take in the breathtaking views and snap some photos. Jeff even demonstrated a unique desert survival skill by setting a piece of cactus on fire and offering us a taste. It was surprisingly delicious!

The Thrill of the Range

After the exhilarating UTV tour, we were eager to try our hand at shooting. Jeff led us to the private outdoor shooting range, where the stunning views of the Arizona desert served as a dramatic backdrop. As a former extreme sports athlete, I’ve experienced my fair share of adrenaline-pumping activities, but the prospect of firing a variety of firearms was a new thrill.

Under Jeff’s expert supervision, we started with a Glock, feeling the power of each shot as we aimed at the targets. Next, we moved on to the AR-15 and AK-47, each offering a unique experience. The highlight, however, was the chance to fire a Barret .50 caliber rifle. The sheer force of the rifle was exhilarating, and I could feel the adrenaline coursing through my veins with each pull of the trigger. Jeff’s professionalism and friendly demeanor made the experience both safe and enjoyable, and we shared plenty of laughs along the way.

A Day to Remember

As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the desert, we wrapped up our day of adventure. Reflecting on the experience, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of camaraderie with my fellow adventurers and our guide, Jeff. His passion for the desert and his expertise in both the UTV tour and shooting range made the day truly unforgettable.
