A whole world - We hadn’t been there for 30 years and it was Mrs Gang’s new wing that made us want to go there, well took us because this building is among those made in New York in recent years the most amazing, the most stimulating for the imagination and the most evocative, do you know others that remind us of a dinosaur skeleton, a hive, tunnels sometimes dug by lava, Cappadocia... in short organic structures, minerals, societies, habitats... what a fantastic success for a natural history museum!!! After wherever we go we remain fascinated by what is offended in our eyes, we planned to take a look at the minerals and we spent more than an hour and a half there, then we took the path that went through the dioramas and we ended up wanting to see them all and so on. I don’t think another natural history museum is as rich and spectacular as this one.

American Museum of Natural History - you have a QR code the you need to change for a ticket, really fast all. Is full of taxidermize animals from all the size and there is a lot of dinosaurs as well, plenty of statues of Greece, Mexico, Asia, and Egypt, the bring the pyramids. highly recommended.

Wonderful morning roaming the museum - Visited the week before Xmas and was it crowded! We bought our admission tickets online along with the Planetarium show ticket for 10:30 AM. We parked in the parking lot by 10:10 AM which was $33.00 for 2 hours. There were tickets for other experiences online beforehand also - like the specific elephant exhibit. Glad we arrived early and saw the planetarium show in the Hayden auditorium: worlds beyond earth which was spectacular and under 30 minutes. Loved the dinosaur exhibit; the extinct or nearly extinct or in danger insects, etc BUT we’d like to return when it isn’t so crowded

A must-do for families visiting NYC - The world class American museum of natural history is a must do for families with small children. We went the Monday before Thanksgiving at 3pm and the museum was practically empty. After dumping our coats and bags in the convenient lockers on the LL floor, we had a light and expensive meal at the museum cafeteria. Spent $100 for 4 slices of pizza and a hot dog. On our bucket list, the life-sized blue whale and dinosaur hall. The space area was also fascinating and we had 2 hours to tour the beautiful museum.

Plan On Spending a Couple of Hours Exploring - We really enjoyed our visit to the museum. We went specifically to view the Ice Cold exhibition of hip hop jewelry. It was quite impressive to see what the music artists commission jewelry artists to create. It is pretty wild what they love to wear and how ornate the pieces are. The mineral and gem area is amazing. There is so much more to explore and will look forward to doing that on our next visit.

A good museum for those who have time in town. - If you have more than three days in town, having young children is a good walk. If you love animals too, a good walk.

Incredible viewings - The museum is absolutely stunning and a must-visit! However, be sure to purchase your tickets directly from the museum's official website. We made the mistake of using a third-party vendor and ended up waiting in line for 45 minutes just to get paper tickets when we arrived. Save yourself the hassle and book directly!

Nice place to go on a bad weather day - There's a lot to see here. If you live in NY State you choose the amount you want to pay for entry. They have small lockers for coats and backpacks - $7 for the day. The exhibits are plentiful and arranged well. However, some areas need a makeover to move into the 21st century, i.e. better graphics and more interactive exhibits. Also, many of the exhibits have labels and text graphics that are placed in positions that make them unreadable unless you have near perfect vision. We spent 3 hours here on a rainy day and still didn't see it all. It's a great place for all ages - the educational value if high.

American Museum of Natural History - The American Museum of Natural History is a fantastic spot, especially for families and children. If you want to explore in detail, plan for more than 3 hours, but you can rush through in 1-2 hours if you're short on time. While it's a great experience, if you're only in New York for a few days, you might want to prioritize other attractions

Informative and Interesting/Hard to Access (disability wise!) - While we take full accountability for going to the museum on a busy Saturday, as someone with a physical disability, it was a challenging building to navigate. We were able to find one set of elevators, however had difficulty getting on them due to large crowds and strollers needing them as well. We used the stairs mostly as a result, which is difficult for me. At the top of one set of stairs (1st to 2nd floor), we were trying to get our bearings (there was no signs, and I needed to shift back into my prosthetic leg) and a security guard yelled, "Go this way or that way, you can't just stand here." It was embarrassing. Overall, though, the exhibits were wonderful with informative signage and interesting notes. Every exhibit pulled us in, and we found ourselves wanting to learn more about every single thing we saw. I would definitely bring a smaller sized stroller or wear little ones so they can get up close (families with wagons and larger strollers seemed to be struggling). Also - wonderfully clean bathrooms!
