Mandatory attraction! - It was a struggle to visit the museum on the eve of Thanksgiving, as the whole environment was organizing for the Macys parade. But it was worth so much sacrifice. Especially for the new space: the butterfly! What a fantastic thing. As a resident of Rio de Janeiro, I was joyful and sad at the same time to see that the blue butterfly, so striking and endemic in our childhood, today is no longer seen. It is also inevitable to remember the contempt, the disregard of the UFRJ with the National Museum. The same crowd that ran in queues and spent millions visiting the American Museum could also be visiting our archives, if the Brazilian state and universities had a little care and respect for our cultural heritage. It's hard to have to travel 9,000 kilometers to be able to see something that visited us in our backyard.

A must-do for families visiting NYC - The world class American museum of natural history is a must do for families with small children. We went the Monday before Thanksgiving at 3pm and the museum was practically empty. After dumping our coats and bags in the convenient lockers on the LL floor, we had a light and expensive meal at the museum cafeteria. Spent $100 for 4 slices of pizza and a hot dog. On our bucket list, the life-sized blue whale and dinosaur hall. The space area was also fascinating and we had 2 hours to tour the beautiful museum.

Fantastic - Living world. Hip hop jewelry exhibit . Wonderful museum, beautiful exhibits very informative. would be helpful if visitors knew where food can be consumed instead of being spoken to quite rudely by SO Barbara H. Cafe personal was rude as well. They made a mistake and got quite an attitude towards me. I visited on 12/7/2024.

A nice addition to our city day - Always love coming to the natural history museum, if you want to do a specific exhibit you should book ahead as we wanted to do the butterflies and they were sold out for the day

Rainy Day in New York well spent - Great Displays and very informative. Lay out is a bit confusing. Even tough we had digital Tickets, we had to line up again and exchange them for Paper tickets that then got scanned, total waste of time, paper and resources.

Terrible admission process - Arrived with Go City pass. Will Call window closed, so queuing in ticket sales queue which is huge and barely moving. A man sitting on a chair, told my husband if you have a QR code we could just get it scanned...... only to be told it was a different QR code. Had to rejoin the main queue again which is now even larger! Really poor admissions process.

A horrible experience - We lost an hour of time trying to retrieve the tickets from my cell phone because they needed the QR code which was not accessible. Finally we called Viator to have them resend the tickets. This must be a common occurrence, since one of the options to get to the right department was if you're having trouble accessing the code. We were only able to spend 1 1/2 hours in the museum including having lunch there, because we had tickets for a matinee.
