The best alternative from all Dyker Heights' tours - When we were looking for a tour to Dyker Heights, we found plenty of alternatives and didn't know which one to choose.
Once the tour is over, we are so glad to have chosen this VIP experience which is organized and handled by local residents of Dyker Heights!!!
Great guide (who knew the streets and the story of the area by heart), comfortable and luxurious bus and, to top it all, great final stop at their lounge to eat pizza and drink hot cocoa!

Christmas Up In Lights - I did this tour last night and it was wonderful. Exactly as described, Steve our guide was very pleasant and knowledgeable of the area being local himself. Plenty of tidbits about the areas we drove through on our trip. The streets were of course crowded but that was to be expected. The houses did not disappoint either, plenty to see. Being a walking tour it was not so fast paced that you missed stuff but you do have to jostle for photo positions which can slow you down.Very convenient pick up and drop off point in Manhattan and alas I have forgotten his name(please forgive) our bus driver was fantastic, very professional. We ended the tour with warm drinks before heading back to Manhattan.

FANTASTIC! WELL WORTH THE COST! - Frankly, the last thing I wanted to do was take a walk in the cold, but the kids insisted they wanted to see the Dyker Heights lights. Glad we did as we had a great time! Friendly host, seemed to be a Brooklyn native, had us moving along through the neighborhood. It was lit up like Times Square and some of the homes are too over the top, but most are just lovely.
We booked here because they were less expensive than some tours and said they had a lounge, which turned out to be a lovely church hall by the bus drop off.
A clean bathroom and a warm place to sit down after the tour - there is more than a bit of walking involved -- was a wonderful thing as I am not that young anymore. LOL Also, our host provided hot cocoa with pizza and pastries. All were included in the price, which I thought was truly a good bargain. He said the food was from shops in the same Brooklyn neighborhood so we got a real Brooklyn experience. PS The cannolis were fantastic! Definitively a most do.

A bright experience - A truly spectacular display of Christmas lights. One could be fooled into thinking that this is over the top extravagance, however, hearing the history of how and why Dyker Heights Christmas lights came to be, certainly makes you grateful for this up kept tradition.

Xmas lights - Amazing displays! Dress warmly. Very crowded, but beautiful. I recommend for families as well. Good guides

Less than average - I guess this might be impressive for someone coming from another country or for someone that lives in the city who is amazed by the idea of a 3000 sq ft home with lights. For people who live in fly over country, this was just a bunch of average sized homes with the typical Christmas decorations. I see much more elaborate Christmas dusplays on significantly larger hones in rural KY and TN.

Christmas Lights Tour - Took the tour with my two teenagers. The bus was clean and on time at the pick up location. Once you arrive things are crazy with people walking through with other tour groups. It was difficult keeping up with our front guide even though he held up a light stick. The guide following the group was short so that made it difficult to see her. I think they may need to find a better way to be visible. Because we were busy trying to keep up with the group, we didn't really get to focus on one home. It felt rushed and unorganized when we were going through the neighborhood. I don't think we got to see all of the lights.

Dissapointed at treatment - My experience on this tour was very disappointing for the following reasons: First of all it was confusing to select a tour to Dyker Heights as Viator offers about 15 different tours to this same place ranging in prices from  $20+ to $500. The details on this are not clear on why the differences in prices. I finally opted to select the one labeled as "Christmas lights tour with complimentary gifts for the kids" because its details also offered a stop to warm up in a holiday-themed lounge and a visit to one of the houses (lucy Spata) .  Even the past reviews mentioned a stop at their lounge to eat pizza and drink hot cocoa. This tour cost me $95 per person ( we were 5). To my surprise, there was no lounge visit and no special visit to Lucy Spata house ( we just passed through the outside). In the same bus tour we were all mixed up with people who paid the 30 to 50+ tours. Regardless of what tour you paid for we all ended up in the same one. No difference if you paid 30 dollars or if you paid 95 dollars for the VIP visit to a lounge.  The most disappointing of all this is that when I very politely approached the tour guide to express my concern about what we paid for, she was rude and got very defensive and started screaming at me saying she had nothing to do with that.  If a tour guide can't even listen to a customer's concerns than he or she has no business being a tour guide.  But the worst of all was when she started giving out the gift to the kids in the tour. We had 2 children with us and when she gave the gift to the 1st child that same child tried to get in the hands the gift for our second child which happened to be his sister. Without even giving us a chance to explain that this was for the 2nd child the tour guide just snatched it from his hands.  My second child was very hurt by this denial of a simple gift. In summary for the 475 dollars what we got was a rude tour guide screaming at me for expressing my concerns, a very hurt child with no gift, no special lounge, and no special visit of the house.  The Dyker Heights is a beautiful place to visit but not in a tour where you will be treated like we were. To viator, i am probably just another number and review,  but i do think i deserve a refund and definitely an apology.Â
