With a culturally diverse community, nearly every type of cuisine can be found here. During the tour, participants will enjoy a delightful variety of cuisines and flavors, including: Greek-American Split Pea Soup with fried croutons, classic NYC pizza, authentic Dolmas (Grape Leaves), Ukrainian varenyky (vegetable-filled cabbage rolls) and pierogis, refreshing egg cream drinks, up to 8 different flavors of Korean Dumplings, and Italian pastries like cannoli and sfogliatelle. No need to worry about calories – the tour includes walking through the history and culture of the East Village, from the Dutch colony of the 1600s to the 1800s when the area was known as Kleindeutschland (Little Germany). Participants will also visit famous spots from the counter-culture scene of the 1950s and ‘60s to the punk rock explosion of the 1970s and 1980s.
