Great tour for Gilded Age fans - This was a great tour for fans of the Gilded Age TV series. Care was a great guided mixing in the historical facts with the series storyline. While most of the mansions were replaced with apartment buildings many years ago, enough have been saved to get an appreciation for the era. We highly recommend this tour..

Wonderful tour - Tour guide Care was amazing. The weather was COLD and the sidewalks were snowy and he took such good care of our group - from bringing hand warmers for everyone to planning indoor stops so we were never out too long. He had a tablet that he showed us photos of historical figures and buildings as he referred to them. It was a wonderful experience for fans of the tv show and even those who just enjoy history and architecture.

Gilded Age NYC - It’s interesting to hear about the gilded age and see the outside of the homes. Initially it was fun to hear about the families, how this age began, and the social dynamics but more families and names got added as we progressed and it became too much to keep track of and lost its interest. You don’t see any interiors except for the lobby of one the homes. Our tour guide was enthusiastic about the topic and did a nice job. He asked us to duck into the lobby of one of the museums on our own to see the architecture and the people working there wanted us to buy a ticket and definitely didn’t want us roaming around. I would encourage the tour to set something up instead of this workaround which felt like we were sneaking in. It would also be of much more value if you could go inside one of these spaces even if it included purchasing a ticket to a museum etc.
