Heliny helicopter a bit dispointed - I did one of the most expensive tour. It was nice but we've flight only on top of the river. It was great to see lady liberty from the top but it was more fun on boat and cheaper.

Late and ordinary - I booked the Grand tour, and based on the description of the tour I had expected a much more interesting tour, and some information of the sites that we was passing doing the tour, but we just got a couple of points, if the well known sites. wa was suppose to be there half an hour priore to our flight schedule, but when we arrived, there was no one from the New York helicopter to greed us, they cam in a quarter hour later that we did, and the flight was delayed at least 20 minutes. so not much to write home about.

Almost $1000 spent for little in return! - We were brought 2 tickets for the grand tour, the most expensive tour New York Helicopters do as a Christmas present. We were so excited and knew it would be the most important experience of our time in NYC. When arriving into the city our booking was changed twice, he weather wasn’t great so we understood and agreed to change on both occasions. Finally after waiting all week we managed to get our tour, the 3pm tour on 21st February 2019. We arrived as requested just before 2:30pm and left almost immediately alongside two other couples. We were barely given any information onboard the flight. We booked this tour specifically so we could see places like the Yankee stadium (as we had no plans to physically visit) yet this wasn’t pointed out to us. In fact the only places pointed out where the Statue of Liberty and the Brooklyn Bridge - places we already knew! The tour didn’t even last the full 25 minutes and then we were charged for our photos afterwards. Like almost $1000 wasn’t already enough? We honestly thought this was a must do in NYC but it’s really not. The tour isn’t personal, the customer service is shocking and above all my husbands an aircraft engineer and said the rotors were off balance causing the helicopter to constantly shudder and drop when flying - something he looked at when we landed. Won’t be recommending this tour at all. Such a shame this is such a huge disappointment after being so excited for it!!!!

My expectations were much higher than what I saw. - We booked a 25 minute tour, the most expensive. There was an option for 15 minutes, 19 and 25 minutes. I decided it was better to see more. In fact, 17 minutes passed from takeoff to landing. There were 6 people in the cabin and we all sat very, very tightly. I thought that our flight would be over the city, but in fact it turned out to be over the river: one way and back. Therefore, Manhattan and the skyscrapers were relatively far away. Just like the Statue of Liberty, we were a looooong distance away from the statue, as opposed to other helicopters that flew much closer to the objects of interest. When, upon returning, I asked the receptionist why we had flown for only 17 minutes, she answered irritably: we have everything written down, while you left here and now came in, 25 minutes have passed. To the question: 25 minutes including all procedures or 25 minutes of flight? She replied: that everything is correct with us, we do not accept any complaints and turned away in the other direction. I will say frankly that I was very disappointed. My expectations were much higher than what I saw.

Go with someone else… - Booked last minute as we were scheduled on another provider the next day and weather was going to be bad. They were 30 minutes late starting our flight after charging us a 500.00 late fee for being there only 28 minutes in advance (we never received a confirmation email to know this). It was a shake down. The other provider did not have a late fee clause, this is just another way for them to make money. We’ve ridden in numerous helicopters and this one was old and the fuel smell was so bad the kids and I were nauseous and I had to go back to the hotel to wash my hair and change clothes as the smell was so bad . On top of that, a gentleman and his son were livid after their flight (before ours) saying their door flew open mid flight and it scared their family to death. Go with someone else. There are numerous other operators with newer helicopters and less extortionist practices.

NO REFUND AFTER COVID19 cancellation, have lost my 1200 USD - I think that unfortunately I have lost 1200 USD. Have reserved a tour for beginning of April 2020. As European citizens, my family was not allowed to travel to the US due to COVID19 travel restriction. Have contacted Jessica from "New York Helicopter". At the beginning she promised me that I will get REFUND on my credit card within 30 days, then it was delayed due to the fact that their office in NY was closed (OK no problem with that), but we are 3 months later and no refund on my credit card. They are no longer replying to my mail since 6 weeks now..silence. I didn't had any problem to receive my money back from the LUFTHANSA, from the hotel, from other activities booked in advance...Just New York Helicopter who is not replying. If one day I receive my money back I will update this post.
