A fond reunion even if in another place in the city that never sleeps - My first really long trip went with my friend to America in 1989 and that was also the year I had my first burger at Hard Rock Café. At the time I didn’t know how this would develop into a hobby with me and now, 35 years later, I’ve managed to manage quite a few different HRC restaurants around the world. When I returned to NY it was a given with a visit to HRC and now to a new place in the city as the old restaurant is no longer there. Didn’t matter much for me so I stepped in and chose a burger from their limited range. Service and food are unremarkable and the atmosphere is as you would expect on a visit to HRC. Overall it was a nice visit here and another t-shirt to the collection which is now quite large. I was full and happy and then went out on the town again, slightly tired eyes after a long day.

Walk down memory lane - For us we had a good part of the day to spend in the city before our flight home. Being close to Times Square we were looking for somewhere to have a cold drink and The Hard Rock Cafe was just across the road. We are glad we went into cafe as it was a real nostalgia trip. The various rock paraphernalia on display throughout the cafe was stunning. Guitars, outfits, hand written lyrics and photographs scattered throughout is a must for any music fan. The cafe was well used to people dropping in to see the displays in the foyer but if you want to have a drink and sit at the bar there is so much more to take in. We were there just around lunchtime and the place was becoming busier while we were there. The bar prices are certainly at tourist prices and the bar staff were yeh/nah but this is not the real attraction. If you have some time while in NY and like music this is a must visit.

Lunch at HRC Times Square - As time goes by, I am starting to think that HRC is losing the quality one time had. I used to really love eating at any HRC in the world, even collect t-shirts but is definetely not the same as years ago. I cannot say I had a bad experience but it did not blow my mind either, in all aspects. We went for lunch at about 4pm, the place was almost empty, still they wanted to give us a tiny table super close to other people, instead of, being flexible and given that the 80% of the tables were empty, put us at a more comfortable spot... The food was ok... just ok, had a Caesar Salad and it was nothing special, just a normal basic caesar I could make at home. The waiter was nice, and polite and friendly but came to the table way too many times to ask if everything was fine... At least 6 times, that is really too much, I was eating slowly as we were talking and one of the times he came again to ask if everything was fine, he even asked me if I was done.... while almost half my dish was still on the plate.... That was a bit uncomfortable to be honest, looked like he was rushing us all the time and did not appreciate that, not sure if he was new and really wanted to check on us to make sure everything was fine, or he wanted to rush us up to finish as he was finishing the shift and wanted to take the tip home.. I guess I will never know the real reason for this.... I will still come back to any HRC I find when I travel as I like it a lot, just need to say, is just not the same as before.

Great service, average food. - This is an iconic eatery in the heart of New York City. Service was excellent but sadly the food average. Definitely reserve a table in advance.

Experience to forget... - Total disappointment compared to the other Hard Rock Cafés visited. After waiting more than 40 minutes for a table, without ever getting the promised message, we had to insist on having a table. The reception staff was rude and unprofessional, while the waiter was kind and attentive. Unfortunately, the food was of poor quality: greasy chips and unsatisfactory overall taste. An experience to forget, not up to the standards we are used to with this chain.

Disappointed by customer care - A real shame. Booked in advanced and arrived on time. Went straight in with no waiting which was great as when we came out there were people waiting all up the stairs to get a table. Then it didn’t go so well. We waited 20 minutes for anyone to come over to take drink order. When they did they were nice and pleasant. Starter came in no time and was nice. There was then another long wait for the mains. Sadly they didn’t bring the correct order and a side don’t show up. We then had to wait ages for the side to come. We tried to find our waiter who was no where to be seen. Eventually as I waved down a manger the missing side arrived. Half way though the meal. The manager did come back again to see how the meal was and when I explained the waiter is clearly covering too many tables they just shrugged. Overall the food was ok, it was just spoil by the time and lack of care. I guess being a popular attraction good customer service is not a given. Overall a disappointing experience and we did find much nicer places to eat just off Times Square and Juniors too.

Major tourist trap!!! - Major tourist trap. And they know that. So they don’t care to improve the quality. Prices are very high for a very low quality food and service. Ordered salmon that came out overcooked and dry. The waitress was not very nice. Better to just eat at the McDonalds across the street.
