Amazing Jazz, Amazing History! - My mother and I went on the evening jazz tour, led by Doris. She was an absolute delight and a well of knowledge and stories. At almost every block she had another story to tell, be it a personal anecdote or a historical landmark in Harlem. It was my mother's birthday, and she even treated her to a drink at the Victoria Hotel! That was even before seeing the jazz! When we arrived to the club, we were made to feel welcome, and every preformance was so incredibly amazing. My mom was made to feel so special and welcomed, and even made a new friend! They even played a special rendition of "Take the A Train", which is her favorite. I was completely amazed by the talent and spirit carried through every player and watcher in the club, everyone was connected by the same love of music, no matter who or where you are. At the end of the tour, Doris even made sure we made it on the right train back home, gave us a few pointers of stuff to see, and we waved goodbye on the train. I would highly recommend the tour around Harlem to anyone! The place is absolutely breathtaking with history and landmarks that you'd otherwise miss if you didn't know who to ask.

wonderful guide - Our guide was totally concerned about our comfort and our safety (we left a little early, and she made sure we found our subway stop), and our appreciation of the incredible history of her Harlem neighborhood. Great evening.

Great walking tour about the history of Harlem, and fine jazz as well! - My wife and I attended this tour on the evening of June 13, 2024. Doris was our guide - a fantastic educator about the history of Harlem and a fascinating person in her own right. Learned so much about the history of this area during our 3.5 hours there. Attended two jazz clubs. - Patrick’s Place and the Victoria/Marriott (adjacent to the Apollo) - for some excellent music and food. Would certainly recommend this tour to anyone!

Harlem Jazz - We had a wonderful experience. Doris is lovely and very knowledgeable. The jazz club of Patrick’s was a wonderful place to eat, have a drink, and hear good music.

🎷🎼🎼🎺 was Great - Was very interesting for those who have a connection to jazz music. The warm and loving lady accompanied us through Harlem and told us the story from its beginnings to today. The highlight was the visit of the Jazz Club where we could enjoy live music for about two hours. The warm lady then accompanied us to the subway.

Too expensive - Just too expensive. The shows and places were great, but paying $100 for a Guide is not worth it. We had a guided tour in the dark and some anecdotes, but most of the evening the Guide sits and listens to the show.

The low point of our trip to NYC - Thanks, Ruth! We appreciate your feedback! "The tour was nothing as described. The guide, though lovely, was not knowledgeable about architecture, history or politics. We went to a jazz club and were the only patrons. I was asked to pay a cover charge of $10 in addition to the drinks. The guide ordered food and then informed us we were going to a restaurant, again, not included. I paid over $60a ticket for the tour, then $68 at the jazz club. We left the tour after waiting 15 minutes for our guide. I learned only about a statue on w. 122nd street, the creator of which the guide did not know!!! I would be pleased to be refunded and will certainly not recommend this tour to anyone. It was a scam, a ripoff, and VERY disappointing."
