Fun, interesting, and a cool way to spend the day. - Thank you Best New York Tours for a wonderful tour of Brooklyn and Coney Island. Marshall, our tour guide was so kind and patient with the group of 13 family members. He made the trip fun and interesting by taking us to some very cool and different locations in and around Brooklyn. Coney Island was definitely worth the stop. So was eating a hot dog at Nathan's.

Best New York Tours is the best!! - My teenage grandson, daughter, and I recently went on his dream trip to New York City. We saw several shows, hit the museums, and had box seats at the Yankees! But the highlight of the whole week was the two days we spent with Best New York Tours and Sheldon Lapidus! Sheldon knew the trip was for my grandson so he tailored it to his interests, while still giving us a wonderful overview of New York. When he says you will see as much in a day or two with him as you would on your own in a week, he is right!! We got so much done, all with the personal touch of someone who grew up in New York and knows the history of EVERYTHING!! His driver dropped us off at the various locations, we toured and then the driver was there to pick us up. All so efficient. Sheldon took my grandson to the best pizza, hot dog, donut, cookie, and candy spots in New Your! Heaven for a 17 year old! Besides all we did, Sheldon had many recommendations for the days we spent on our own including best restaurants. In advance, he helped us find a great hotel that met our needs. Best New York Tours was worth every dollar and we still are talking about it each time we are together!! Thank you, Sheldon!!

Excellent tour. Excellent guide. - We were a business group and accompanying family members. Our group included small children, teenagers and adults. Despite the mixed audience, our tour guide Sheldon kept us all entertained for the entirety of the five hour tour. He delivered the perfect mix of his historical facts and colorful storytelling. Sheldon and our driver were true professionals. Additionally, the bus was clean and we felt safe. This was a magical day for all of us.

Sheldon is the G.O.A.T of NYC tour guides!!! - First Let me start off this review by saying Sheldon is the G.O.A.T of NYC tours. During the 22-23 school year we were blessed to be able to host a foreign engage student from Germany….. we tried to give him the best possible experience in America, but one big thing was missing…. A trip to the big apple 🍎!!!!! Now flash forward to July 2024…. Our exchange student was coming back to visit us for two weeks! We know it was go time when it came to making sure he was able to experience NYC, the only problem we had only one day to do it. Remember when I said Sheldon is the G.O.A.T of NYC tours…. Let explain exactly how he earned the bragging rights to that title… i spend hours trying to calculate how we could see as much of NYC as humanly possible is just one day, I made a list of exactly what we wanted to see and tried using apps to map out our visit. I was failing miserably, becoming more ana more stressed each time I tried to plan this. I looked at walking tours, ehhhh that was going to be impossible, I looked at those bus tours where your put on a bus like a heard to cattle, that just wasn’t going to cut it. I then decided to search up private NYC tours, immediately the first website to pop up was (drum role please) yes, you guessed it Bestnewyorktours.com! I knew immediately when I began to read his webpage he was secretly going to be my night in shining armor when it came to our NYC trip. A simple text message to Sheldon explaining what we were looking for was replied with a return text message letting me know he had some availability and asked could we chat about it…. After a 20 min or so phone conversation I knew I was making the BEST choice and didn’t hesitate to make sure we were able to book Sheldon to be our tour guide! So flash forward to the day of our trip…. Did I mention we only booked our tour the day before we wanted to go? Again Ahhhhmazing! Sheldon helped to make some recommendations of a parking garage of where we could park our vehicle! It’s tour day!!!!! Sheldon met us at the parking garages, we were welcomed on to a luxury van, and that’s when we experienced hands down the BEST NYC tour of a lifetime! Sheldon is not only upbeat, comical, and outgoing but the amount of knowledge this man knows is mind blowing! From the moment we stepped on to the van I was in awe not only of the city but all that our tour had to offer!! Sheldon beyond exceeded our expectations, from the amazing places we visited, to the heartfelt, personal and emotional stories we were told at ground zero oh and let’s not forget the incredible slice of pizza! Sheldon even took on a subway ride into Times Square!!! He even took some wonderful photos of our family in some of the best places!!! Sheldon not only gave a fabulous time touring NYC but in my book we made an incredible friend!!!! Our exchange student has returned back to Germany with having the BEST NYC experience of a lifetime!!! If you’re reading this review, and you’re on the fence about whether you should book a private tour with Best New Tours I have two words for you…. DO IT!!!

Excellent way to see New York - Absolutely informed New Yorker as our guide and brilliant driver who knew the city streets like the back of his hand. The driver went slowly allowing us to really experience what our guide had to say as we drove around. We were able to get out of the car to see places of interest with our guide. The guide grew up in New York and gave many historical facts as well as information from his personal history. Preparation was excellent and we were definitely asked what we wanted to see and there was excellent communication via email before we went about what we were interested in seeing. Nothing was too much and it was great to feel the pride and love for this great city from both our guide and driver.

The Ultimate Way to see NYC - Our family of 8 had an amazing time on our private tour aboard the Mercedes Sprinter! When my sister and I decided we wanted to take our families to New York we were not certain how we would show them the city. After some research, we stumbled upon this touring company and felt it would be the best way to see as much as we could while not growing tired of walking or taking repeated subways. Although we felt it was a great choice, we did not know just how great until the conclusion of our tour. Sheldon was funny, energetic and super knowledgeable on all things New York (and roller coasters). He, alongside our awesome driver (G), took us all over the city and left us filled with information we would have never found on our own. Seeing NY through this tour company was perfect. We are thankful for the opportunity and more impressed with NYC than we ever thought we would be. So definitely go to the city and definitely book this tour-- you will not regret it!

NYC two 5 hour tours - We had such a fun time touring NYC with Sheldon! He was so personable and he knew EVERYTHING about the city. He was really funny and engaged with everyone in the family. It was definitely money well spent and it was my favorite part of our whole trip. 5 stars highly recommend!!!

Sheldon’s Private SUV Tour of NYC - Sheldon’s NYC Private Tour business is great! Sheldon called ahead of time to find out what are interests were. He provided us a list of his recommendations. Sheldon is a Native New Yorker with great passion and experience of all things NYC. By the end of the conversation, it was like we were friends. Sheldon provided ongoing communication as our tour date approached. One of Sheldon’s recommendations we went to was The Met Cloisters. It is a renaissance period monastery in a lush, parklike setting. It looks like it should be in Europe. Grigory was our driver. He is a calm, safe, skilled NYC driver. Marshall was our guide. He is a native New Yorker who has done NYC tours for 20 years. He is a wealth of knowledge and experience of all things NYC. He took us to off-the-beaten-path sites like, Grant’s Tomb, George Washington’s house and some Cival War era housing. He took us to his favorite hot dog place and pizza place. He recommended many different eateries. We saw the network news stations, Rockefeller Center, Columbia Unversity, the restaurant on Seinfeld, The Theater District, The Shopping District, Harlem, and much , much more. There is no way I could begin to list everything we experienced. Marshall took us to the iconic sites too like The Chrysler Building, The Empire State Building, Central Park, and where John Lennon was killed. Marshall crammed in as much as humanly possible. A Fabulous Tour - We had the best time! A fabulous tour; entertaining, educational and enlightening. We were able to see and do so much. It was easy to get around and we avoided all traffic congestion. We all throughly enjoyed our day!
