Excellent history lesson; would have liked more technical background. - AJ was incredibly knowledgeable regarding the history of the NY subway system and enthusiastic in the relaying of this history. It was a most interesting tour. I am an engineer, and I would have liked to hear more about the workings and construction of the subway itself.

Very interesting - Our tour guide was great. He was very personal and knew his stuff. We really enjoyed it. The only thing I would suggest is, instead of an ear piece, use headphones. That would block out more of the subway noise when he's talking.

NY Subway Experience - Seeing it in TV many times in the past, I've never tried it before. This tour is definitely the best way to start giving the complexity of the subway system in NY. Our tour guide is well-prepared with many historic facts, attentive to all the members of the group, funny which made the experience so enjoyable.

AWESOME tour! - We had a great time with AJ. He is a native NY-er who is personable and funny. I learned so much about the city where I have spent significant time but never really saw some of the details he pointed out. Definitely worth the money!

Great tour, learned a lot - AJ was a very knowledgeable tour guide. We got on and off several subway trains and he spoke at each station about the history of that station. He showed us old tile that was covered up and as we went past some old abandoned stations he shined his flashlight so we could see them. I would recommend this tour but if you are in a wheelchair or on a scooter or have difficulty with stairsit is not for you.

Check Subway Directions - Unfortunately we never the made the tour as we took the wrong subway and ended up on the other side of the river. By the time we came back it was 10.45am! We were very disappointed that we missed it, but of our own doing. Would be nice if we were given a voucher for our next visit.

A Very Different New York Experience - The guide was very knowledgable and friendly. He put things across in a very interesting way. Just remember that the subway gets incredibly hot so dress accordingly.

An exhausting, very detailed talk, on the New York Subway system. - Positives first. The guide was very knowledgeable about the New York subway. We took several trains and got to see some abandoned stations. Right now the negatives. The talk about the subway is very detailed to the point of exhaustion and in places really quite niche. You really have to be a train enthusiast to keep interested. Also the heat of the subways is too much to just stand in one place for 30 minutes while we find out which sections of New York each individual subway franchise in the 40s had or why the mosaic pattern on the station name is as it is. Also the beginning talk in Fulton is nearly 40 minutes long. My suggestion would be to take 30 minutes off the tour. Take out some of the very niche information. Get started earlier and spend less time in the heat of the stations. As it is, it is certainly worth doing only if you are really really interested in the New York subway. Also it is worth noting you don’t actually go to abandoned stations, but see them from a moving train with a flashlight.
