Super accessible thermal attraction - The last time we were here was just after covid and we were the only customers and there was only one staff member. What a joy it was therefore to see the business up to fully functioning and to see so many appreciative customers. A very accessible way to see geothermal activity and with a nice little boat ride thrown it. Brilliant if you're near Taupo. Highly recommended.

Well worth a visit. - Stunning location, and a unique experience in a landscape unlike anything I've seen before. Very well set out and maintained. You get a true otherworldly feeling in amongst the pools of boiling mud, clouds of steam, bubbling pools and the rainbow colours of the silica. Smart visitor centre with very friendly staff too.

Terrific place to visit - All-round brilliant experience: way better than anything in Rotorua in terms of the geothermal features and the beautiful location on the edge of a lake. The staff are particularly friendly too, even by NZ standards.

Fantastic place - If you want a geothermal experience without coach tours and lots of tourists taking selfies come here. Beautiful location, friendly and welcoming staff and the self guided tour was very interesting. Lots to see and the walk through the 3 different sections informative. We visited on a Saturday and wasn't busy at all. A little hidden gem which is thoroughly recommended.

A definite must-do - Wow. What a fabulous place. Well worth a visit to see the amazing geysers and steam spouts. Quite a climb up (certainly not for anyone with a mobility issue) on rising steps to a viewpoint at the very top. The tour round is well signposted and follows a natural path. There is a small ferry boat to take you from the base across the river to the park but it runs frequently whenever anyone needs transporting over and back. The crossing is only a few minutes. The colour of the rocks is amazing with all the chemical eruptions. Truly a sight you won't forget in a hurry! Really worth doing. The shop at the beginning has a small cafe area too and several picnic benches. Plenty of (free) parking. Would highly recommend.

So beautiful - The area is quite beautiful, and it is wonderful seeing the many geothermal features. I particularly loved the bubbling mud area. I wish it were a longer walk, but it was packed with things to see.

Geothermal wonders - Grand experience with amazing close up action from the geography to the steam rising from the rock and boiling water hissing and bubbling. Steps to and from the mud pools were steep and a bit daunting. View over the lake was awesome as was the little boat ride across the lake.

Great experience,... - Great experience, fascinating and awe-inspiring hot pools and views. Be prepared to shed some clothes; it's warmer at the site than at the visitors' center. Lots of steps!
