• Wooden Cask Brewery Company - The tour will commence at the Wooden Cask Brewery, the previous location of the 633 Flamingo Club. Here, participants will discover its ties to the infamous Cleveland Syndicate mafia and the renowned celebrities who graced its stage, such as Marilyn Monroe, Dean Martin, and Frank Sinatra!
• eat well celebrations & feasts - The tour will proceed to 518 York Street, the former site of the Yorkshire Club, once one of the largest and most prestigious “carpet club” casinos and possibly the biggest illegal horse racing bookmaking clubs in the 1930s. Attendees will learn about the owner’s conflict with the mafia and the eventual mob takeover of the club.
• Brass Ass Strip Club - The tour will include a view of the exterior of The Brass Ass Gentleman’s Club, the former location of the Stardust Casino (the Neon star remains on the building!) and Silver Slipper brothel. Participants will learn about the indictment and conviction of one of Newport’s most infamous mobsters and how prostitution supported the local economy.
• Thompson House - The tour will visit the John Thompson house, the residence of the inventor of the Thompson machine gun (“tommy gun”), where attendees will learn about how this weapon became a favorite among mobsters in the 1920s and 1930s and its involvement in the Saint Valentine’s Day Massacre!
• Gangsters Dueling Piano Bar - The tour will stop at the Gangster’s Dueling Piano Bar, the former site of Glenn Schmidt’s Playtorium, where participants will learn about the owner’s conflict with the Cleveland Mafia that nearly cost him his life.
• Beverly Hills Supper Club Memorial - The tour will visit the historic marker and Memorial in Southgate, KY, the former site of the Beverly Hills Supper Club, which experienced the third deadliest nightclub fire in U.S. history. Attendees will learn about the club’s troubled history, the owner’s conflict with the Mafia, and the mysterious circumstances surrounding the fire that ultimately destroyed it, resulting in the loss of 165 lives.
• John Nolan Auto Service - The tour will visit John Nolan Auto, the former location of Merchant’s Club, where participants will learn about the notorious mobster who managed the club for the Cleveland Mafia and a gangland shoot-out that nearly claimed his life.
• Mustang Betty’s Antiques - The tour will conclude at Mustang Betty’s Antiques, the former site of the Mustang Club, where attendees will learn about a mob victim and a mysterious fire that led to a gruesome discovery!

While there are a few walking tours about the “Sin City” years of Newport, our tour is the only one where you can view all of the historic sites from the comfort of an air-conditioned vehicle (minivan). This allows us to explore far more historic sites in less time than a walking tour can! You will relax from the comfort of your seat while you are transported from site-to-site and will learn all about the unique history of each site, it’s connections with the mafia, illegal gambling, bootlegging, and prostitution that earned Newport the name “the sin city of the south”! You will also have an opportunity to get out of the vehicle at each tour stop and do some exploring of your own, with your tour guide there to answer any questions you may have.
