village undergound: Is a tunnel complex in Quang Tri, Vietnam. During the Vietnam War it was strategically located on the border of North Vietnam and South Vietnam. The tunnels were built to shelter people from the intense bombing of Son Trung and Son Ha communes in Vinh Linh county of Quang Tri Province in the Vietnamese Demilitarized Zone. It was constructed in several stages beginning in 1966 and used until early 1972.

The DMZ in Vietnam was an area devoid of military action which served as an intersection between the northern and southern parts of Vietnam, a result of the First Indochina War. As the Vietnam War took place, it arose as a significant frontier that separated the battlefields of the North and South. Visit an airstrip and a war base used during the Vietnam War with an English-speaking guide, who will inform you with insightful commentary.
Between 7:00 and 7:30am, our tour guide and driver will come to your hotel to bring you to the Vinh Moc Tunnels. We’ll make stops along the way at Doc Mieu, Ben Hai River, and Hien Luong Bridge. Your guide will share information about the renowned Vinh Moc Tunnels, which are noted for being an underground settlement built to withstand the American War’s (1965-1966) bombardments. This intricate network consists of wells, kitchens, family rooms, and areas for medical care.
We will return to Dong Ha town at 12:00 for a lunch break at a local restaurant before heading back to the hotel.
