Tour in Kibera - I had an incredible experience touring the Kibera slum with our guide Lucas. His deep knowledge of the area and its community made the visit both informative and impactful. Lucas was not only respectful and engaging but also passionate about sharing the stories and resilience of the residents. I appreciated his ability to connect us with local people and provide insights into their daily lives. This tour was eye-opening, and I highly recommend Lucas for anyone looking to understand the real Kibera.

One of our best days in Kenya! Must-have experience. - We're still under the heartwarming impression of the walking Kibera slum tour with Lucas. To be honest, it was our last day of the 4-week trip to Kenya and we were thinking whether to take it or not, since my husband expected a lot of poverty there, therefore the depressing feeling and all the possible begging on the streets, but I've read all the positive reviews and pursued him to go. We honestly couldn't think of any better way to finish our big trip to Kenya, Lucas absolutely exceeded all of our expectations. The people were amazing, kind and welcoming, the kids were fantastic and humble, and Lucas is doing a great job in promoting the community and truly giving an opportunity for people of Kibera to shine! It was supposed to be a ~2.5h walking tour, but we just couldn't get enough of the atmosphere, kept asking questions and interacted with the people and kids, so it turned to be a 3-3.5h tour for us. Lucas was absolutely FANTASTIC, he told the story of Kibera, how life is arranged there, showed us all the interesting spots, including the Power Women centre, the local art craftsmanship, the huge TOI market, the local school and much more. We knew there would be a lot of kids on the street, since it was a school holiday time, so we made sure to bring biscuits and give local children a little treat, but actually there were so many kids, that we decided to buy extra already in Kibera. It is truly a city in the city, and it's nowhere near Nairobi, you feel really safe in Kibera, everyone is really welcoming and kind, you can tell that it's a community and people know each other and Lucas well, we felt safe and even cozy. If you're willing to contribute to the local kids school, I suggest to bring pencils, crayons, chalk, drawing books and etc that would come in handy for the kids. They'd be really grateful (all of that can be purchased in a local Carrefour or Naivas chain stores). To make the long story short - DO NOT HESITATE, A MUST VISIT experience while in Nairobi that shows you another side of living in Kenya, full of hope and kindness. ❤️😍

Incredible Experience - What an incredible experience going deep into the slums of Kibera and meeting the beautiful people and children. Watching the children play with an old tire or throwing rocks into the river makes you realize how simple life is. Despite the extreme and cramped living conditions the people are happy and full of life. Lucas are guide is one of the most genuine and generous people I have ever met. Donating portions of the fee to the community and school. Highly, highly recommend this life altering experience.

I had a wonderful experience with a friendly guide! - It was the Kibera Tour that I always wanted to be on. Lucas' guide taught us about the slums and we walked from Kenya's second largest market to the Kibera slums. It is very important to have respect for the people and to allow them to enter the area. Thanks to Lucas's kind guide, I learned valuable things about the children and life in the slums. I'm very satisfied with that.

Kibera tour - highly recommended! - Highly recommend this tour. Lucas is a great tour guide and showed us around the area. We felt totally safe. It was great to see how people live and work in these areas. They also open their home to their guests which we were very grateful. It was also amazing to meet the children from the school on at Saturday. The hardwork and time invested in their school is definitely paying off. The children were a joy to be around. If you're in doubt, don't be or you'll be missing out on a great experience.

highly recommend - The tour of the Kibera slums was very interesting and gave us an insight into the daily lives of the people who live there. Lucas made us feel very safe and gave us detailed answers to all of our questions. They even took us on a tour of a school they have built in the community. If you are in Nairobi and have time, highly recommend this tour.

Must do! An amazing tour. - This was an extremely interesting and instructive experience and, although I was a bit concerned before we started off, it was completely safe. Everybody I met on the way was friendly and welcoming. I think this is a unique opportunity to see how local people organize their community and how they live, and to correct some clichés and misconceptions in my mind. I especially liked the local school. I was invited into a classroom with about 20 absolutely adorable children who sang some songs. Finally I want to mention my guide, who is a knowledgeable, well educated and charming man. On the whole this was an amazing tour.
