They are proud to be able to share the fruits of our labour with wine enthusiasts around the world, and consider each person that enjoys a glass of Pillitteri wine to be a part of their family. At this location we would be doing 3-4 wine tastings in addition to a tour of their wine making facility!

Pamper yourself by taking home luxury bath and body products from Maison Apothecare. You will be receiving a 75-minute break and dropped off here in Old Town Niagara-On-The-Lake where you can shop, eat, explore or, all of the above! Then we pick you back up and resume the tour!

  • Reif Estate Winery - One of Niagara-on-the-Lake’s founding family wineries, established in 1982 by The Reif Family, and later fulfilled by Klaus W. Reif. Today, Reif produces wines from its 125-acre vineyard first planted in 1977 and is in the Niagara River sub-appellation where sun-loving grape varieties grow most excellently. A long growing season is refined by the river, as air currents hinder early spring and late fall frosts.

Our vineyard is planted in Ontario’s warmest sub-appellation which is ideal to produce rich full-bodied wines. Our farm is also home to some of the oldest vinifera plantings in Canada—a benefit to growers in cooler climates like Ontario, as mature vines ripen earlier. They also produce wines that reflect the ‘terroir’, so when you taste our wines, you will taste the essence of our vineyard. Here we will do 3-4 wine tastings!

Excellent day in wine country! - Need was a great guide/driver and knew so much much about the history of the region and knowledge about the grapes and farming industry (and best places to eat). He was also an excellent driver—finding smooth less congested roads so the ride was great and stress free. We enjoyed the relaxed pace of the tour, the wineries and getting picked up directly at the airbnb we were staying at. My only tip would be to bring a water bottle. A lot of the wineries are sustainable and may be limiting how many glasses they give out…so you’ll likely only be offered wine at each stop.

Perfect winery day - Loved this wine tour! Tour driver was nice and so lovely to be picked up at our Airbnb. Three wineries - all very nice. At Konzelman, see Gabriella at the bar after the tasting. She was AWESOME and had some great wine and dining suggestions. Pilliteri was our favorite. Your if the winery was great. While we didn’t have time to shop there, we returned later in the day and found some wonderful wines. Ask for Cordelia. If she isn’t available, ask for Bianca. Drop off for lunch in beautiful Old Town Niagara on the lake and some window shopping. Last winery was Reif, then drop off back at our Airbnb. Would definitely recommend this tour as it was so nice not having to drive around!

Great wine tasting tour! Highly recommended. - My partner and I had a fabulous time on this tour that took us to 3 wineries and Historic Niagara Falls. Our tour guide, Jeff, was very informative and patient. We needed extra time to purchase wine to be shipped back to Houston, TX. Jeff was able to accommodate us. My only suggestion would be to give us some time to enjoy the Lake.

Exceptional! - Everything you’d expect on a wine tour: new air-conditioned van (most welcome on a hot summer day,) a small group of 10, 3 wineries, several tastings at each winery, very informative presentations at each, and a lovely opportunity to purchase estate wines unavailable at our local Ontario stores. Jeff, our driver, was informative not only about wineries, but the areas we drove through, pointing out interesting buildings, areas of interest, knew where the shops were that we wanted to visit on our free time in “Old Town”, a charming shopping and eatery street that I know we’ll return to. Thank you for a lovely day! We highly recommend it!

Average experience ... do your homework before booking - A friend and I spent a few days in the area and signed up for this excursion. The “pro” of this tour is that you travel by air-conditioned vehicle to each destination so you don’t have to navigate or drive while potentially impaired. We were also picked up at our bed-and-breakfast and later dropped off there … so that was another “pro”. In total, 8 other lovely people were on the bus with us (a final “pro”). However, we expected more from the experience. Our first location was Konzelmann Estate Winery. This is where we were able to sample four different wines and a small charcuterie board was to be shared between two people. Nice guy who served the wine and chatted with us. There was limited explanation for what had been put on the board and for what reason; this would have been helpful to understand. For example, this particular cheese pairs nicely with this particular sample. Three of the four wines were white; only one was red. As a red wine drinker, this was somewhat disappointing … and there was never a white wine that we really loved. At this venue, there was no tour. Just the sampling. Off we then drove to the next venue – Pillitteri Estate Winery. We sampled four wines at this venue; once again more white than red. However, there was a tour of the inside of the winery by a very knowledgeable guide. This was a highlight of the day. We were then dropped off on the main street of the town for a lunch break. We were given approximately 1.5 hours for this and lunch was at our own expense. Back on the bus again and off to the final venue – Reif Estate Winery. This was a rather rushed stop and we sampled three wines in rather quick succession. Nothing very impressive but a lovely server. Overall it was an “okay” experience. Definitely not a “full day”. We were not provided with bottled water as advertised. And, I was a little put off by the sign posted at the front of the bus that indicated that a 15% gratuity was customary for our driver/guide. If you are a red wine drinker, there are limited samples of red wine. And if you are envisioning learning more about the actual wineries and having a proper tour of each one … well, this is not the tour for you. I’m not sure what other options are out there for tours but it may be worth finding out more about what the day will actually look like before you book with any tour company.
