• Square Ηead - The Square Head is a contemporary, avant-garde sculpture that also functions as a building.

Created by French artist Sacha Sosno along with architects Yves Bayard and Francis Chapus, it depicts a massive human head with a cube-shaped top.

The sculpture measures 30 meters (98 feet) in height and 14 meters (46 feet) in width.

• Place Garibaldi - This square is named after Giuseppe Garibaldi, the Italian general and national hero who was instrumental in the unification of Italy.

Garibaldi was born in Nice.

• Cathedrale Sainte-Reparate - This cathedral is dedicated to Saint Reparata, the patron saint of Nice, whose relics were brought to the city in the 9th century.

• Place Massena - Place Masséna is famous for its architecture and the large fountain featuring a statue of Apollo.

• Opéra de Nice - This Opera House was designed by architect François Aune with the help of Charles Garnier, who also designed the renowned Paris Opera House.

• Promenade des Anglais - The Promenade des Anglais, often simply called “La Prom,” was built in the early 19th century.

It was financed by the English aristocracy who visited Nice during the winter, hence the name “Promenade of the English.”

• Colline du Château - Castle Hill was the site of Nice’s original settlement and housed a castle and military citadel built in the 11th century.

The castle served as a strategic military fortress until it was demolished by the French army of Louis XIV in 1706.

• Port Lympia - The harbor boasts a rich history dating back to the 18th century.

It was built under the orders of King Charles Emmanuel III of Sardinia and has been vital to the economic and social development of Nice.

The port’s name, “Lympia,” comes from a nearby river that was used to fill the basin.
