You should absolutely do this. - I’m sure that this is not the least expensive tour you could take in Nice, But I am also sure that it is one of the very best. We had a group of eight people, three couples and two singles, and nobody knew each other to start, But we all made friends and by the end of the day it was very sad to say goodbye. Our guide, Laurent, Grow up in the area and learned to swim in the Mediterranean here. He knew the in and out of every single town, beach, store and bathroom on the whole coast. So helpful, so funny, very engaging. He involved everyone in conversation at some point. So the people were excellent, but I would imagine what you really want to know about is the tour… We visited all of the locations mentioned in the brochure, they are unbelievable. So many absolutely gorgeous places. The water is a color I have never seen before, beautiful. Monaco is an otherworldly place, and our stops there we’re very eye-opening. You can see the same places on your own, but It will take forever and be horribly frustrating, and you will not learn what you learn on a tour like this, especially with a great guide like Laurent.

Superb French Riviera Tour - Best tour guide in the world. Thank you Samuel for showing us the French Riviera and taking us to precious hidden spots. We got to see Monaco, passports stamped in Monaco which is rare, walk by Princess Stephanie’s house, the palace, medieval Eze, walk the red carpet in Cannes, Beautiful beaches of Antibes and then the finale was Vence. Such a special, beautiful, artistic, serene village. I’d highly recommend a tour with Samuel. Stupendous day!!!!

So many sites & experiences, a great tour. - Our tour guide was Samir, he was very knowledgeable and passionate about sharing that knowledge with all the tour participants. He was very accommodating and flexible (as he could be) with where the tour guests wanted to spend more or less time. He picked up, and dropped off every guest at their hotel in Nice. We covered a lot of ground and experienced a taste of a lot of places & locations. As described, it’s a full day tour (9 -10hrs) and time well spent.

Gorgeous towns, guide was mediocre - The towns were absolutely gorgeous. I first booked this tour and then it was canceled when I went to verify pickup time the evening before the trip. I contacted customer service who helped me rebook (and had to pay again!). I found out at 830 am, after messaging customer service multiple times, that the driver Laurant would be there at 840. The van has dirty seats that many sweaty and sunscreened people have sat in. We booked a tour in English, and everyone spoke English, but we also had one person on our tour who was very rude to the group, and the guide spoke to her most of the trip in French. We missed out on most of the history he was saying, couldn't ask questions because they were talking most of the time. This trip was frustrating and not worth the money. We felt excluded, disrespected, and gross. We have 8 people, and 7 of us didn't have a great time. 1 of the group was visibility and audibly upset, and the guide did nothing to mitigate. We also arrived back at 645pm, though we were all on time for every stop with little traffic. I don't recommend this guide. I do recommend this tour maybe with a cleaner van that has better air conditioning. Oh and our A/C sucked.

WORST. TOUR GUIDE. EVER. I’m still livid weeks later. - Issa doesn’t give a dam. The whole length of the trip up the Boulevard des Anglais was a loud, obnoxious, nonstop paid advertisement by her for three crappy restaurants and a crappy chocolate shop (FYI – Auer is the famous one that Queen Victoria went to, and it’s really good). Check out her list of recommendations attached. It is literally a flattened bag that she passed around for us to take a picture of. Professional, huh? All of the other six tour guides from my trip sent follow-up emails with recommendations that actually have excellent reputations. Here's what I learned from Issa: the price of parking everywhere on the Riviera; the price of car insurance in different parts of France; her grandma used to live in a 5th-floor walk-up, but had to move; her kids eat their vegetables; and the price of camping on the Riviera. No one in that van had a car, nor did they plan to get a car. We were all on brief trips to the Riviera, and she completely wasted an entire day of our vacations that I, for one, had saved up for for more than a year. Not only that, but her loud, obnoxious, nonstop monologue was incredibly annoying. She never stopped with the inanities. We passed a very prominent fort on the way to Cannes, and I had to holler at her a few times to get her to stop her nonstop monologue about parking to ask her what the story was about the fort. She told me the “Duke of Bourbon” built it. Anyone who knows anything about French history knows that this is a nonsense answer. I looked it up, and King Henri II built it. I told Issa, and she couldn’t have been less interested. She dumped us outside the wall at Antibes (you can’t drive inside) without more than two sentences of instructions and without making sure that we knew where to meet her. Antibes wasn’t on the itinerary, and I had zero interest in going. It had a tiny, nothing market and the Picasso Museum. She told us to go to the Picasso Museum. When we returned and told her it was closed, she basically told us we were stupid and that of course it was closed. She had dumped us there instead of taking us to St. Jean-Cap-Ferrat and Villefranche-sur-Mer, which were on the itinerary. I really wanted to see both of these places. I thought we were going to drive through them. Nope. If you look at the itinerary closely, they use misleading marketing language that basically implies you’re just going to look out your window from afar. You are not going to see these two towns, which are the jewels of the Riviera. To top it all off, three of us panicked for at least ten minutes, trying to figure out where she was to pick us up. I panicked that I was going to lose the tour until I found the other two people who were just as panicked, but at least we were panicked together and were able to find a small bit of shade in the scorching heat. I had to message her office, and then she finally showed up. She had a complete lack of empathy throughout the day. So she didn’t give a dam about learning ANYTHING of interest about a region that should have been a BLAST to visit, given all of the interesting history, beautiful art and crazy celebrity stories. But she did manage to have the entire Fragonard skincare line in her van so she could do another paid commercial and have us pass it around. The only thing I learned was that Princess Stephanie lives in the boring part of Monaco, and she pointed out the jail and took us on the Grand Prix route. Of course, she pointed out that it was really easy to get a speeding ticket and that only cars were allowed in Monte Carlo. Again, nobody in that van had a car, was going to get a car, or would have time to come back, since she blew an entire day of our vacations. She told us there was nothing interesting about Cannes. Come on! Even I know lots of good stories about it, and we would have liked to have walked along Le Croisette, but Issa thought it was boring, so no can do. That’s when I gave up trying to get ANY relevant information out of her. We all had to run up and down the mountain to Eze to make it back in time. Fragonard was another money-making opportunity for Issa. She told us we were going to have a private tour, but when we got there, we got joined up with another group in the middle of mass confusion, and NONE of us could hear anything the Fragonard guide said. We kept asking for her to speak up and slow down, but she wouldn’t. Then we got to smelling fragrances at an overcrowded counter, where there wasn’t a place for us, and we STILL couldn’t hear her. I couldn’t smell anything on the paper strips she passed out. Then she used every cliché pressure technique to get us to buy a bunch of product we didn’t want. It was hellish. She barked at a rate of a hundred words per minute, telling us we’d save so much if we combined orders with complete strangers, but we had to hurry before it was too late. “Come on!!” she hollered at us. I wanted to buy three small bottles of eau de parfum, but she grabbed three of the giant bottles instead and stuck them in a box for five giant bottles and kept yelling at me at least five times to pick two more. I kept telling her that I only wanted three small ones, but she ignored me, and I finally had to yell at her to get her to stop. The skincare line is garbage, with the exception of the Royal Jelly. That’s actually really nice, and I recommend it. Issa argued with two of us on separate occasions when we dared to ask her questions. When I told her I was having trouble with my seatbelt, she told me not to worry, because the cops wouldn’t see me without my seatbelt on in the back seat. Thanks, Issa, for your concern about my safety. Issa’s contempt for her paying customers is vivid. She should just follow her passion and get a job as a parking attendant. I lost an entire day on the Riviera, and the part of my trip that I was looking forward to the most (and had been telling everyone about) turned out to be a massive disappointment. And to give you context, I went on six other guided tours on that trip that were all fantastic. DO NOT GO ON THIS TOUR.
