Beautiful reef but got chased by 3 sharks - I have to say, that was much better than I expected. It’s true that there’s some dead corals but definitely a great variety of fishes. And lots of sharks. I’ve seen 8 in literally 10 minutes on the side where the boats are coming from. I think they should warn people about how to behave as occasionally might chase swimmers (a local told me after). I got circled around and charged by 3 black tips, about a meter/and half long for 3 times. And I had to take refuge on the reef to escape. Not sure what went wrong as I’ve been diving with sharks before and I guess when I started panicking, I did all the wrong things (sudden movements, splashing and shouting). But I had literally two of them on my fins while swimming away from them. Bad story, but I think should be mentioned for others safety. On this I’d like to add: boat price is 2500k period (locals and foreigners) don’t let other guys fool you as we got all sort of prices starting from 7000. Price included going there and back and you can easily stay all day with no price difference. We’ve been charged 600 each for snorkeling equipment, which I also think is probably to bargain it down to 300 Entry tickets is now 10$ plus 8$ service charge per person, it’d be curious to know what is the service charge for. Locals pay 2$ total. Worth it but you could easily call it scam.
