Xiaohao and Xishan Village are top destinations in Xiapu for photography, offering a variety of scenes such as bustling fishing activities, expansive low-lying beaches, and endless lavender fields. Xiaohao is particularly unique for its S-shaped tidal waters that blend seamlessly with the beach and stream textures.

Dongbi is ideal for capturing shoals and sunsets. Located two kilometers from Xihao towards Sansha, Dongbi Village is surrounded by mountains and seas, providing a wide and spectacular view. During the laver season, the interplay of shadows, boats, and sunsets makes it a perfect spot for sunset seascape photography.

Sansha Town is a renowned fishing area in eastern Fujian Province, offering opportunities to photograph both landscapes and local life. Visitors can also enjoy fresh seafood here.

Huazhu is known for its captivating sunrises. From a high vantage point, you can overlook the sea, with buoy bamboo rafts, fish raft houses, and distant sailing boats creating a picturesque scene. The fishermen of Huazhu, who live on fishing rafts and engage in deep-sea farming, are considered the true “sea people.” Photographers from around the world often stay overnight to capture the stunning sunrise, making it a revered location for photography enthusiasts.

Xiapu photography is primarily organized along four lines extending from east to west and north, with Xiapu County serving as the main hub. Notably, the eastern line which includes Xiaohao, Dongbi, Sansha and Huazhu, is the most coveted among the four. It’s the route that attracts the most tourists and whose photographs are frequently seen in national and international photography contests.
