Brilliant day trip - Our guide khalid was brilliant, we learnt a lot about Omani culture and saw some amazing places. We first stopped at Nizwa town, it wasnā€™t market day (Friday) so it was quiet but very nice. Some lovely market stalls - definitely buy here if you want souvenirs, not mutrah souk in muscat as thatā€™s full of rubbish nothing local. We also saw the dates shop and got to try different ones. We got some amazing pistachio tahini too. Nizwa fort was a nice stop, nothing like other forts/ castles weā€™ve seen and particularly loved the murder holes, very inventive! Next stop was to the irrigation system where we saw their historic waterways. Little stop on the side of the road but really interesting. We also saw the amazing jebel akhdar Mountain Viewā€™s and the local villages terraces from the viewpoint. We stopped for lunch at a buffet restaurant, (layal Al jabal) some good choices but nothing special. On the way back we drove through a local village and palm tree groves. Great day out with a great guide. We would absolutely recommend.

Amazing Nizwa and Jabel Shams - Our first day in Oman.. and we were enchanted! All thanks to Khalid (of Landmark tours) to weave stories of Oman and Omani people with history of Nizwa and Nizwa Fort. The Nizwa Souq transports you back to old world charm. An array of pottery, jewellery, spices, dates overwhelms all our senses. Heading further to Jabel Shams, the Canyons of the East. Enjoy the 6 km off - road stretch on the steep and windy mountain roads. The cool winds were a balm on the sunny day, as were the majestic canyons. Al Hamra is an unmissable 400 year old village, complete in itself giving a perfect end to the day! Once again a big thank you to Khalid for his hospitality!!

One of my best experiences in Oman - The day trip was amazing. Firstly, our tour guide Khalil is extremely helpful. Even though the weather is not ideal, Khalil helped us to arrange the visit to Jebel Shams in a safe manner. Secondly, Khalil was on time and polite. He was really talkative and willing to share a lot of the Omani culture to us during the trip, which we think fascinating. Lastly, Khalil also recommended us some really good and reasonably priced souvenir at the Nizwa Souq which we can share with our friends. Of course, views at Jebel Shams and the visit in Nizwa Fort were amazing. In general, I would highly recommend this tour to all of you if you would like to visit these places.

Amazingly beautiful Oman - This is our first visit to Oman, we didnā€™t expect much, but what a surprise! Oman is amazingly beautiful, and the Omani people are kind and friendly. Specially our tour guide Mr Ali, so wise and knowledgeable, answered all our questions with patience and humor, and satisfied all our curiosity. At the end of the tour, he took us to his village as his guests, and showed us the true Omani hospitality. We will come back again surely!
