An unforgettable day of authentic Omani experience - What an incredible day! I was picked up from my hotel by the incredibly charming, knowledgeable and funny Said who drove me from Muscat into the suburbs and out into the fascinating countryside, keeping me updated along the way about all the local features, quirks, culture and points of interest. I was guided on to Nizwa which was the highlight of my whole trip. It's a lovely town with a rich history. The souk was interesting and Said guided me gently through it. At no point did I feel pressured by hawkers or anything like that, I was welcomed and treated with hospitality and Said was clearly well respected. The fort is breath-taking and rich with history, with nice views from the roof of the surrounding town and agricultural land. We enjoyed coffee, dates and really tasty flatbread made in front of us. Said then took me into the absolutely stunning Jebel Akhdar for a drive around some absolutely amazing sights. It's seriously beautiful up there, and the weather was lovely and cool. It was an incredible day and one I will remember for the rest of my life. Thank you so much Said.
