A little trekking getaway to the beautiful volcano rim - Had a couple days time during my visit to Lombok so decided to book a short 2D1N trek to Mount Rinjani rim. This is the easier one as we don't go all the way to the summit. Was a quiet day, so just me and my guide Lim and our porter Tedi in our party, though there were other parties going up and down those days. Overall, not too crowded, which was just fine for me. The weather was excellent, on the day up it was a bit cloudy but it gave breathtaking vistas marked by layers of distance. The second day we got as clear as it gets so a different experience going down too. Lim and Tedi did great job helping along the way (they cook, and setup camps and everything). Still you should be at least moderately fit to take up this challenge. My leg muscles were aching even several days after the experience, but it was all worth it! Just note that this package doesn't include transport between Mataram or elsewhere you might be staying and the foot of the mountain, so you have to sort the transport out yourself. It's about 30 euros from downtown Mataram if you take a taxi. The tour organizer can help you call a return car, usually just somebody in the village, and you can pay them. Or you can opt for one of the other packages that includes pickup and drop-off.

The most humbling experience, a MUST DO. - Wow, let me tell you.. WHAT AN EXPERIENCE. Shout out to Benji our guide and the 3 amazing porters. Our team went above and beyond. Everything is 5/5 for us, the service, the food, the company, the experience. It’s a MUST DO. You will go through a lot of mental and physical challenges but it will be worth it for the view at the top. It’s not for the faint hearted this trek to crater is still HARD. The night time can be very windy/scary. We will be back to do the summit! Thank you team !!!

Unreal Trek! - Did 2D1N Senaru Crater Rim trek. The hike and then views from the top are incredible! It’s all made very easy from the amazing guides and porters who help carry all equipment and food to the top. And made interesting by all the info the guides give and answer any questions you may have. Highly recommend!

Awesome experience and incredible views - Very well organized from pick up at the hotel to drop off at the end. Our groups guide, Anton, was awesome it was really good getting to know him during the hike. I did the 2D1N, it was a tough climb but worth it. Even tougher for the porters, shout out to them for carrying up our tents and food (which was restaurant quality) and making sure we had a comfortable journey. The view at the top was spectacular. Very surreal experience.

Unforgettable 2 day 1 night trek to Rinjani crater rim. 5 stars! - Wonderful guides Mario, Alek and Micha ensured this was an incredible 2 day hiking experience. They were very professional, thoughtful and attentive , helping us through the challenging ascent and descent! Totally worth the effort. Glad we opted for the crater rim and not the summit on this trip. Summit would have been too much for us and our teenage girls I think...Maybe next time! The views of the lake and the crater are exceptional and we could see over to Bali and the Gilis at sunrise. The trek from Senaru is beautiful, through lush forest and then up through the dryer savannah. Out porters were amazing too, cooking 4 beautiful meals and providing us with hot tea and fried bananas . The tents, mats and sleeping bags are really good quality. They lent us each sticks at the start of the trek- don't know how we'd have done it without them! Definitely worth taking wind proof jacket and a couple of layers for the summit . All in all a fantastic shared experience that we'll always remember. Thank you Mario, Alek, Micha and all our porters . Highly recommend it.

Great company, unforgettable experience - This was just wonderful. You get to see the Lombok volcano up close, but if you look the other way you will see the sun setting behind two volcanoes in Bali too. The trip was very well-organised - great guides, surprisingly good food, best location at the crater rim. Word of priceless advice if you’re not very fit - don’t think about going all the way to the summit as the trek to the rim alone, while perfectly doable if you are moderately fit, is altogether quite challenging.

Would recommend this 5 stars tour to anyone - Thank you Benji and porters. They are such warm and kind human being. I had really a wonderful time. Benji is so caring and funny. He let me his sandals when i slipped thousand time on the shuffling path. Making fires at night to keep us warm. Constantly checking on our wellbeing. And told us many things about the Mt rijani. I would recommend their tour to anyone.💓 Also thanks for making arrangements on the payments.

Not suitable for inexperienced trekkers 😂 - A show!! A nice but hard bed with a good final reward as the views above are amazing. Nothing would have been possible without the help of the boss from the beginning of the trip organization, as we called from Yogyakarta and explained the whole tour. We were picked up at Lombok airport and brought to Senaru. The next day they came after us at the hotel and took us to the office, where we could leave our luggage. Once there the adventure began... We had two guides for 4 people, who helped us in everything possible and impossible to reach the crater of the volcano. Personally, for us Benji was very helpful throughout the tour. He was a very friendly and patient Guide, very involved in his work. On the other hand, one wants to make a great mention of the porters who do a spectacular job climbing everything necessary to make our trip more comfortable (folding chairs and tables, shops, sacks, food, water, soft drinks, etc.). In addition, they made us meals cooked by themselves in large quantities and gave us fruits and cookies throughout the way. Finally, mention that after going down the mountain we should be taken that same day to Bangsal port (as it was included in the price), but since we were dead we decided to sleep another day in Senaru. So they took us to the new hotel, came the next day for us, let us leave the luggage in the office and brought us to the entrance of the Tiu Kelep waterfalls. Later they came to pick us up, picked up our luggage and took us to Bangsal to catch our boat to go to the Gili. Anyway... very good people and given to adapt to all your needs. A great experience.

Do your research, there are better options - I am going to write a more honest review than I usually would because I feel duped by the positive reviews this company has. It was overall a below average service that they provided. There are better companies that we saw on the trek so make sure you do your research instead of trusting viator like I did. The hike is amazing. This is a review of the company. Pros - amazing guide, silo was a young man that helped me a lot on the trek and tried to answer our questions the best he could. On the way down he picked up a whole bag of rubbish that other ppl had left behind. (The maintenance of this route is a whole other topic that really needs attention.) - plenty of food and hot drinks along the way - we were staying in senaru the night before and got a pickup and drop off included Cons - equipment: I am putting this first because this alone should turn you away from booking this company. The tent and rain fly we slept in was so old that the zippers didn’t close properly. We saw some really nice tents at the campsite that you can tell are new and sturdy but not ours. Through the course of the very cold and windy night, both the rain fly and tent’s zippers became undone and we were basically sleeping with no protection. This is not something that should be skimped on, and after a really tiring hike it is the last thing that should happen. - there is a man at the office that is plain rude. Unlike other agencies this one doesn’t charge you upfront for the national park fee, so you are supposed to read the fine print in the confirmation and have 300,000idr cash on the day. This seems like an illogical way to go about business, and when he approached us to ask for the money, he was disrespectful and condescending, assuming that we did not know about the fee and would argue with him. It was a distasteful way to start our day.

Don’t pay in advance! They take your money and don’t give a duck - Since the beginning, we had communication issues. At first I thought that they sounded rude because they don’t speak english very well. When they replied “read your booking” after a simple question about position I changed my mind. End of the story, we paid in advance but we couldn’t go because of flight cancellation (we provided screenshots of that). They didn’t gave me even a partial refund, which I could tolerate, but they also replied annoyed and passive aggresive. We don’t know how the experience would have gone, but surely not worthy lf advance payment.
