Enjoy skiing, snowboarding, or snowshoeing, or simply relax and take in the breathtaking views from the mountain peaks. With private transportation and a professional guide, you can focus on the adventure while leaving the logistics to the experts.
As the day progresses, take a moment to appreciate the iconic landmarks of Vancouver. Visit Canada Place, a stunning building on the Burrard Inlet waterfront, home to the Vancouver Convention Centre and the virtual flight ride FlyOver Canada. The mild wind and high humidity create a cozy atmosphere, perfect for a leisurely stroll along the waterfront.
Thrills and Chills: North Shore Mountains Tour
For those seeking a heart-racing adventure, the North Shore Tour is a must. Available from 9:30 AM to 7:30 PM on January 11th and 12th, this private tour takes you to the renowned peaks of Cypress Mountain, Grouse Mountain, and Mount Seymour. Each mountain offers a unique experience, from well-groomed ski paths to exhilarating ziplining adventures.
Cypress Mountain, with its expansive skiable terrain, is a snowboarder’s paradise. Grouse Mountain, on the other hand, offers a variety of thrilling outdoor activities, including the stunning Light Walk and outdoor skating pond. As you ascend the mountain on the iconic Skyride, you’ll be treated to panoramic views of the city below.
Review (2020-01-07): Unique Ski Experience - Within 20 minutes of Vancouver are 3 mountains that you can ski on. All 3 are visible from the city and lit at night for skiing. Cypress is the biggest with “two” mountains making up the area. There are cross country, snowshoeing and hiking trails in the winter and if you’re crazy enough, mountain bike trails. There’s also a tobogganing park. Go very early on a weekend as parking is a nightmare. Grouse is a good hill too and in my opinion has the best ski instruction for the little ones. You park at the base and take a gondola up. Good restaurants and phenomenal views. Seymour is the family-friendly mountain. Snowboard friendly but limited runs. Park at the top. One cool feature: there’s one run right off the parking lot so you can do a run without taking a chair first.
As the sun sets, the mountains come alive with twinkling lights, creating a magical atmosphere that is sure to leave you in awe.
A Cozy Conclusion: Relax and Recharge
After a day filled with adventure, it’s time to unwind and recharge. North Vancouver offers a variety of cozy spots to relax and enjoy the local cuisine. With the high humidity and mild temperatures, the evenings are perfect for indulging in a warm meal at one of the many local eateries.
Consider visiting one of the on-site restaurants at Grouse Mountain, where you can savor delicious dishes while enjoying the stunning views. The mild wind and cloud cover create a serene ambiance, making it an ideal setting for a relaxing evening.
As you reflect on your winter wellness retreat in North Vancouver, you’ll find that the combination of thrilling adventures and tranquil moments has left you feeling rejuvenated and inspired. Whether you’re a seasoned adventurer or a first-time visitor, North Vancouver’s winter wonderland offers something for everyone.
