Additional Information

This is the best 60 minutes of rib-tickling historic escapism you can find in Skipton.

Your guide for the canal tour is award-winning comedian Dave Spikey of Phoenix Nights and 8 Out of 10 Cats fame. With his characteristic Northern patter, Dave takes you on a recorded whistle-stop tour of Skipton and shares canal history that’s refreshingly different from your average commentary.

Above the jokes and laughter, you hear points of interest and fascinating stories of how the Leeds & Liverpool Canal delivered the lifeblood of the industrial-revolution through Yorkshire. There’s food and drink on board, too, so it’s a fun twist on your lunchtime break.

Our lively canal trip proves you don’t have to let planning or nasty weather get in the way of a good time.

Relaxing, informative and entertaining - Really enjoyed our time on the canel. I was a little worried after reading some reviews after I’d booked our trip. As other reviewers have said the commentary is a recording and so doesn’t match with what can be seen from the boat, however, it is interesting and entertaining so I didn’t feel this was an issue at all. It was a relaxing hour.

A must do in Skipton! - Booked a 1 hour canal trip today and thoroughly enjoyed it. Once booked we received a text message with all the details and a link to find the place. The boat was lovely with lots of seat that have little tables you can pull down. My son, who is 4, was extremely excited and really enjoyed it - he was sad when we had to get off. During the trip there was commentary with lots of knowledge about Skipton and the surrounding areas. There was a range of drinks and snacks available to buy on the boat that were priced very reasonably. We had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend.
