You’ll visit sites featured in the current series of All Creatures Great and Small, including the Village of Grassington, which stands in for Darrowby in the show. Wander through charming villages and traverse scenic passes, soaking in the breathtaking views. You’ll also visit Bolton Castle, where Herriot proposed to his wife and which was a beloved spot of the author.

Please arrive for collection at Coach Stop A on Leeman Road opposite to the Memorial Gardens at 09:00.
The pick up is a 5 minute walk from the Railway Station.

Excellent tour of Yorkshire National Park area. - John was great! Very knowledgeable and pleasant. We enjoyed our day immensely. We were also appreciative that we were met in the morning, as the construction in York had us confused about where to meet to join the tour. John made sure we attended all the venues and were not distracted or confused about where to go at certain sites.

Great Day Out - Had a wonderful day out with John S our fabulous driver and guide! Highly recommend this tour if you’re a fan of ACG&S. Lovely lunch at Wensleydale Creamery.

One of a kind experience in the Yorkshire Dales - What an amazing tour! We had tour guide/Driver, Barry, who was incredible!! He was extremely knowledgeable the whole trip and we learned so much. You really felt taken care of. We stopped for coffee and a snack and then lunch. It was delicious. Then ended our day with ice cream on a farm! Next time we are back we are booking with this company again. Thank you!!

The best Yorkshire dales adventure - John S was an excellent, knowledgeable host with many interesting stories about the area. He was very kind with a wry sense of humour. We loved the All Creatures Great and Small trivia and Grassington was a real highlight. We would recommend more time at Bolton Castle over the Falls but appreciate that the Castle was closed so perhaps makes sense for a shorter visit.
We would recommend generally that under 10s shouldn’t be on the trip.

Worth it! - Trevor was very knowledgeable as he was a ex lecturer of environmental science and the trip was great! We got to see lonk and wild boar at very close distance. We also get to see filming location of all creatures great and small.

If you’re a fan-don’t miss this tour. - We were the only 2 signed up for that day and our wonderful driver John gave us a private tour. From our experiences, other companies would have asked us to change our tour day. Riding up into the dales along the narrow roads I imagined James driving to remote farms. We had time to stroll through Grassington where the pub scenes are filmed, visited the church used for the wedding,Jame’s house, drove past the filming location of Helene’s farm… John was a wonderful source of local history and life in the area.

A day trip from York to Yorkshire Dales. A visit to setting for PBS’s All Creatures Great and Small. - Our trip was like riding along the countryside with Hames Herriot. John, our guide shared his passion for The Dales. The perfect combination of scenery and visits to charming villages.

Ben was a wonderful guide on a personalized tour. - Ben took us on a private tour of the filming sites of All Crestures Grest and Small. We covered the backroads across the Dales, seeing the sheep and cattle among the dry stack rock fence walls. We visited Bolton Castle, the ruins of an Abbey, and walked down to some beautiful waterfalls. Ben is a wonderful and flexible tour guide. He has an excellent narration about the history of the area. I highly recommend him.
