Highlights
  • 2217 E Tudor Rd - Our Northern Light excursions has an award winning professional photographer working with you to get that ultimate photo of a lifetime. You will get personalized photographic instructions and that alone will pay for this trip and more. We don’t rush as our trips typically last 8 to 10 hours. Our trips are catered for everyone and our locations are handicap accessible so we can accommodate most everyone. Your guide also takes photos during the night and you will get copies of them in high resolution for free!

We subscribe to several paid subscription services to track the Aurora Forecast for best viewing probability, weather/cloud conditions, as well as the locations for viewing them. Mother Nature is always the one in control of the lights and there is never a guarantee that the lights will show.

If there is less than a 30% chance of seeing the lights the trip will be canceled and a full refund issued. From a 30-70% chance of seeing the lights, the customer has the option to either, cancel with full refund or continue with the trip. At 70% or higher of seeing the lights the trip will continue with no chance for refund. We have a 98% success rate!

Additional Information

This tour only runs in the winter months from Sept 1st through May 1st. This trip will be focused on the Aurora Borealis aka Northern Lights. It offers some of the most amazing views that Mother Nature offers. There is no disappointments on this trip as you will return home with those ultimate memories and photographs of a lifetime! Our trips are not fast and quick as we love watching the lights too! Expect hours of fun, great conversation and learning how to photography the lights.

For photographing the Northern Lights we highly suggest a DSLR camera with a lens that is capable of at least a f/2.8 18-35mm and a decent tripod for best pictures. The Northern Lights can be photographed with smartphones as well. But know that due to taking a time exposure, your best results will be with a DSLR camera. It can be cold (below zero), so be sure to dress appropriately for the weather conditions and have an extra camera battery. The cold temperatures can drain a battery quickly.

Cancellation Policy

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

Auroa Experience - Scott was an amazing guide and picked us up at our rental. He took the time to answer all of our questions in detail and wasn't in a hurry. We stayed until we were ready to come back. He shared his pictures since my camera didn't have the capability to capture the Northern Lights. He is honest and won't take you on the tour unless you have a chance to see the Aurora. We all highly recommend this company.

Northern Lights light show - We really enjoyed Scott taking the time to give some history and educational instruction to photography and the Northern Lights. He also provided us with snacks, hot beverage and a warm place to sit and wait for the lights. He truly loves what he does and the people he meets and it shows!!

Best Aurora Quest in Anchorage with Scott - Scott was amazing. He found the best place to view Northern Lights. He gives all those extra details that make your trip memorable. I also learnt photography titbits from him. He ensured we were comfortable with adequate heating.

Solo light tour - This was above and beyond what I expected. Super smooth communication with my tour guide, pick up and drop off was very helpful. He had great conversations but also felt comfortable and safe to take a nap on the way there and back. Tour was 8pm-2am so we had loads of time to relax and enjoy the views. Saw the lights around 12pm. Thank goodness I didn’t pay for any other tour that was shorter because once the other tour got there, they missed the lights and didn’t get to see them at all that night. Truly a great tour guide and highly recommend his services.

Highly recommend - Scott was information and knowledgeable and cared about the experience instead of just a booking. He took us to a spot and read the forecasts and made sure we were given the best chance at seeing a good, quality light show. We were successful and our friends and family love the pictures. We were even able to get great photos with our cell phone cameras. This was a great tour with a great guide.

Northern Lights Adventure with Scott - Look, if I could give Scott a 10 out of 5, I would. He was in contact with us days in advance, picked us up, had everything we needed, and we got to see the lights. He literally knows everything about the area and he shared all of that with us, which made the rest of our trip excellent as well. He went out of his way, over and beyond, and if we get to come back we will ask for Scott specifically. This was a superior experience.

Best-of-the-Best! - Scott is the perfect host. His knowledge of where to go to see the Northern Lights is phenomenal. He stays in touch with apps and other colleagues to assess where and when we would see the lights. Another great point is…Scott Will Not do a tour if the conditions, weather, impede seeing the lights!!! He is a wealth of local knowledge which he researches and verifies before sharing. I was so impressed with his knowledge and ability to explain how the various ranges in the apps determine the chances of seeing the aurora. As advertised he helps with camera settings and provides you with copies of photos he took. Not to only was this a bucket list item, I was so happy that I selected the Best of the Best! Thanks Scott!!!! P.S.: Snacks, water and hot beverages, and a warm vehicle made the trip a success.

Excellent tour from a knowledgeable and safe tour guide - Scott knows of an excellent location to view the Northern Lights, far from the light pollution of Anchorage. He was prompt, professional and constantly monitored our comfort to ensure everyone in our group was warm enough and had everything we needed to enjoy the experience. He gave us a variety of tips and recommendations for taking night-time photos of the lights, which was extremely valuable to us. The fact that he shared with us many of the photos he took himself is icing on the cake, and well worth the cost of the tour. Scott was also a very safety-conscious driver, and I was confident in his ability to navigate the roads safely. I would definitely recommend this tour to any of my friends and family, and would be interested in booking with Scott again, should I find myself in the area in the future. Thank you for the excellent, and memorable, experience!

Just don’t go ! - I wouldn't recommend this Northern Lights tour with Scott at all. The promises made when we booked and paid were not kept. First of all, the place where Scott took us to watch the aurora was on the side of a road with a lot of traffic, which was quite dangerous. There were supposed to be chairs and blankets for us to sit outside, but we stayed in the car all evening. It was written that we could have hand warmers, but my friend asked for them and never got them. What's more, Scott spent his time eating and sleeping, so we're the ones paying attention to the Northern Lights. Finally, Scott is a professional photographer and was supposed to give us advice on how to take photos of the Northern Lights, but we had to manage on our own, and when we asked him to take a photo of us in front of it, he made it quite clear that it bothered him because he was cold, he was wearing jeans and a light jacket, no gloves when it was -35, I don't understand. On top of that, he was falling asleep on the way back, so we were really scared. In short, don't spend your money on this excursion, download an app and get around on your own!
