An Authentic Cooking Experience. - We had a very nice time participating in this cooking class. Manuel was the perfect host. The class takes place in an authentic outdoor kitchen. The best part was enjoying the lunch afterwards served with fresh pineapple banana juice.

An Experience to Remember - What an amazing experience! Manuel is an amazing chef and teacher. He got us all working at creating some amazing empanadas in his wonderful outdoor kitchen. We loved having the animals around and my kiddo loved feeding the goats. We all loved learning some new dishes that we will be able to practice at home.

Realist Cooking Experience! - Our teacher or No No, as he asked us to call him, was amazing. Very personaliable, funny, and knowledgeable. I must admit the drive to the class was a nightmare, but we were coming from Tamarindo, so as we learned, it was expected, but if you are in Nosara, please go to his class. Go during the off-season for a more immersive experience.

Great Authentic Experience - My wife and I took this class and had a wonderful time. The instructor Manuel (Nono) was so much fun to work with and had a great sense of humor. We began right off by chopping, slicing, and kneading in preparing the palm ceviche and chicken empanadas. Nono allowed us to be very hands on and involved in the whole process. The outdoor kitchen so very authentic and the farm setting is very relaxing and welcoming. The wood fired stove was great in adding the true authentic Costa Rican experience. We were joined on the farm by chickens, pigs, and goats as well as being able to visit the garden. After cooking, we enjoyed a delicious feast along with fresh pineapple and banana juice to drink. You will leave very full and relaxed after spending the morning with Nono. We learned a lot and will be applying what we learned as we cook at home. This class is highly recommended for all ages as everyone can participate and have a great Costa Rican experience! Pura Vida!!

Interesting, educational, fun - We had a delightful time learning how to make empanadas and ceviche while enjoying nature and laughing. After prepping the ingredients we got to feed the goats and piggies and walk up the hill to take in the silence and surrounding beauty.

Learning to make these Costa Rican dishes was a blast! - We had a blast learning some new skills - I may even let my husband in the kitchen now! We made delicious chicken empanadas and palm ceviche. The farm setting was so quiet and restful...except for the laughter! With the guidance of our chef and his funny assistant we chopped, minced, squeezed, pulled and patted our incredible lunch while under the watchful eyes of Poppy the dog and the piggies and goats! Totally worth the time and effort to get there.

A Must-Do Experience in Nosara with Chef Nono! - Our experience with “Cooking in Nosara” by Chef Manuel, known as Nono, was one of the most memorable and delightful experiences we had during our trip. If you’re in Nosara, this is an absolute must-do!
My 11-year-old son was initially reluctant to join me, but by the time we left, he admitted it was one of the best experiences he’s ever had—and he was genuinely impressed by the food. As a picky eater, it was a big deal that he loved what he made himself!
Chef Nono is an incredible host who made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. His beautiful farm was the perfect setting for learning how to make delicious Costa Rican dishes. We did everything from A to Z, from chopping ingredients to preparing the dishes, and finally, enjoying the delicious food we made together.
Chef Nono also treated us to a fresh, natural smoothie that was simply wonderful. Beyond the cooking experience, he gave us a tour of his farm, offering us a glimpse of Costa Rica’s beautiful and peaceful nature. The experience ended perfectly with a cup of delicious Costa Rican coffee that he brewed for us.
Thank you so much, Chef Nono, for making our time in Nosara unforgettable. I highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting the area. Take a visit to Chef Nono’s farm and enjoy a couple of hours of cooking, learning, and connecting with nature. You won’t regret it!
